It's interesting how a person's concert going experience differs according to generational differences and where you grew up. You saw people like Roy Clark and maybe Jose Feliciano and other lounge act types. I saw arena acts like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and the Doors. If I was a little younger, and lived in the mid-West, it would be completely different. I'm talking about those boys from St. Louis, of course. By the eighties, I was mostly not interested in seeing anybody that passed through this rock. Kenny Rankin was one of the last concerts my wife and I went to. He played a Guild guitar that band leader/conductor/arranger Don Costa gave him back in the 60's. It was gratifying to see what a single guy, alone on stage, with an old guitar and a smooth as velvet voice, can do. The last concert we went to was Leo Kottke. We saw him twice. We'll probably see him again if he hasn't croaked and passes through again. |

I would be surprised if they did that. Some drugs are very expensive and to have someone bring them back because they were not working well would mean a big loss to them. It is the doctor who prescribed them. I can't imagine them reselling them. The is the possibility that someone may have tampered with them. That is just too much liability for a pharmacist. |

When my dad died, the first thing the hospice nurse did was get all his medication, break them up, dissolve them in water, and dump them on an absorbing pad that people that are dying tend to keep around. It was a rather curious thing seeing the nurse kneeling on the floor trying to break up pills using whatever heavy object was laying around. She should have put it in a thermos bottle and kept it handy. My guess is that mix was pretty much death for sure if someone drank it. |

A small crowd that I was in waited well over an hour once to see Jerry Lee Lewis stumble onstage in a minor venue, late and drunk. Unbelievably, he could still hammer that piano and hit his notes. Then, he stumbled off into the dark. No encore! The biggest venue I was ever in was the Reno Coliseum. It's small by coliseum standards and with a roof. We watched Willie Nelson and the Outlaws. Willie played his famous, worn out acoustic guitar. I wanted to find a picture of the guitar on the Net and got this instead. That´s it! <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigger_(guitar)> |

We are on our on, to buy what we can afford. No safety net. If you get sick you do the best you can. And it costs much more here. A drug that sells for $20 in canada might cost $280 here. Or more. Perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong all these years. I''m familiar with that model of Martin guitar. It's not a very good classical guitar because it's built way too solid. Martin builds them like they build their steel string models. The tops are thick and heavily braced - that's good because that keeps the top more stable and it resists warping. The bad part is they don't sound or play like a good classical guitar. OTOH, Trigger has a pretty distinctive sound and in Mr. Nelson's hands, it's magical. |

I vaguely remember a white beard and Coward of the County. I was just getting the hang of going to concerts by people I'm not really a fan of when covid broke out. I have never taken an Opioid in my LIFE! And never want to either! I have taken too much ibuprofen once and caused my kidneys to go into Acute temporary shutdown once! That was a bummer! :-( John Kuthe, RN, BSN... |

I am not sure they are the best pain relief on their own. I had oxycontin when I broke my collar bone. I used them only at night, and that was so I could sleep on my back and not move. It would wear off around 4 am and i would wake up in severe pain when I moved in my sleep. Then I would take another and sleep the rest of the night. When I broke my ribs I was prescribed a combination of Tylenol 2 and Motrin and it was very effective. After heart surgery I was back on opioids, but I stopped as soon as I could get by without it. Some people would have been looking for a renewal of their prescription. |

The dosage is listed right on the label. So much for being a genius. Cindy Hamilton |

I was given a blister pack of 12 oxycontin after hernia surgery. I tried one on experiencing some discomfort and the resulting stomach pain was far worse. I took the rest to a pharmacy for disposal. |

Opioids were very inexpensive, pharmacies take them for disposal... I guess I could have flushed them but I'd rather not do that. The small local pharmacy takes used hypodermics from our cat for disposal and we don't even buy them there. We buy them from the Vet but they won't take them for disposal, even the large pharmacies like Walgreens won't take them. The small neighborhood pharmacy is family operated, has only three stores. I figure he takes them as a courtesy and to attract customers because he charges higher prices for OTC items. Still most people who enter the pharmacy will buy something, I do because I'm already there, I don't care if Tylenol costs 25¢ a bottle more rather then drive elsewhere or buy it on line and wait for delivery. I'll buy some of my Rx medication there because I have insurance and he charges the same as anywhere else. Still I don't buy much Rx there because for my regular meds I use the mail order pharmacy from my medical insurance company. >In the US, we have no health care system.
