Paying the department of revenue to renew your registration is a
requirement. Doesn't matter what kind of car you drive, they're
collecting vehicle taxes and issuing stickers. Big whup.

There appears to be a self righteous sense of entitlement among electric
vehicle owners. They expect stores and malls to install charging
stations for their convenience. There have been cases of condo owners
wanting the condo board to install chargers in the garage and they
expect not to have to pay extra for the electricity used for
transportation. They think it should be paid through their monthly condo
fees, which include electricity.

Don't forget, John installed two charging stations in his garage because
he fully expected his renters to drive electric cars. What happened to
the housemate/rental plan? Then again, he also tried to tell them they
couldn't have cell phones, needed to chip in on his landline.

I'm not against electric cars. I am against expecting paying for every
place have a charging station. I live in the boondocks. Public
charging stations at grocery stores, etc. aren't going to happen here
any time soon. And before they do I really want to know the statistics
of people actually driving electric cars before I am expected to pay via
vehicle/road tax for charging stations.

A person in a condo who insists on a charger in the garage should be
assessed an extra fee. Why should anyone else pay for it? In that
situtation the electric bill should not be aggregated. IMHO.

But for the sticker on cars, Kuthe isn't special. He merely paid the
appropriate vehicle tax. Ho hum.

We get a discount when buying off road diesel in bulk, but we still
had to pay for the fuel tank to store it. There's no free lunch.

Kutchie hardly drives anywhere, if he had a functioning brain he'd be
far better off ecomically pedaling a bicyle. Kootchie just wants
everyone to think he's saving the planet, truth be told he's a big
time polluter. Just his Nodick track pollutes with all the coal
generated electricity he wastes when he could be pedaling a real
bicycle around da loo.

Coal mining is a dirty business, but coal is primarily what they use to
generate the electricity to power your car, and heat your house and hot

What I miss are those books of paper matches. 20 matches in a book and a
box of 50 books for very little cost. Are they still made?

I don't often look but I have looked in 2 grocery stores, 2 drug stores
for them. Even convenience stores had them but no longer.
All I've seen are wooden matches lately.

Most smokers use disposable lighters nowadays.

They still sell them here. You can also get boxes of wooden matches,
both the safety heads and strike anywhere. What I have not seen in
years are the promotional matchbooks. Hotels, restaurants, hotels,
motels and many other business had handed out matchbooks. I don't know
if they went the way of the dodo because of the popularity of disposable
lighters of because smoking became unpopular.

We always keep a box of wooden matches in the house, for lighting
candles and the gas stove during a power outage. I also keep a bunch
0f wooden matches in a pill bottle in my car, match heads dipped in
candle wax... never know when there'll be an emergency and need a fire
in winter. We each keep an emergency kit in our cars, gotta have
extra warm clothes, blankets, a can opener and a stash of canned food,
and cans of liquid refreshment... canned beer and soda can keep a long
time, bottled water has a short expiration date... carbonated
beverages are sealed much better, if the carbonation is gone don't
drink it, means it's not sealed well. Also keep two good flashlights
in your car and check the batteries at least once a year. I have one
of those crank radios, they are inexpensive and don't need batteries,
also can charge a cell phone battery... also has a built in
flashlight. Radio plays about 10 minutes before needing cranking
again, about twenty cranks and good to go. A decent First Aid kit is
a must. I also keep good jumper cables and a towing strap in my
vehicle.

You live out in the country. Don't you prepare for a roadside emergency?

I live in the suburbs and rarely drive out of sight of a building. I keep my
cell phone charged.

Only a mobile phone. Sheldon writes as if he's preparing for a zombie
invasion.

We always bring our mobile phone in the car, although half the time
it's empty. The one time we broke down, it wasn't working.

Then he's a fool. He didn't include anything to smash the zombies' skulls.

Great album. I saw him live in the 70s. I still have a buzz in my
ears.

I use wooden matches and I don't consider $1.29 a box expensive when a

I think book matches went the way of flat wooden toothpics. Now
plastic lighters are very inexpensive and so are plastic toothpics.
But we always keep wooden matches, sold in every stupidmarket.

I saw him too. He opened for Lou Reed, the "Street Hassle" tour. Lou
was ****ed off about the sound, and twice he kicked a monitor into the
orchestra pit. **** him. He was washed up by then anyway. The
Blockheads were amazing. I have seldom been impressed with live shows.
I went out and bought the album the very next day.
