Edmunds can do whatever pseudomath they want to fool idiots like YOU. I know how MPG is calculated, miles PER gallon! It's a simple ratio!

But John! If gallons is always zero, it is not a simple ratio, it is
instead an undefined operation.

In other words, what you are suggesting is mathematically impossible.

So how many miles per kilowatt? You are still using energy and there is
a cost factor. MPKW would be a good selling point.

An electric car will go about 3 to 4 miles on a kW of electricity.

Those mathematicians who can't divide by zero need to expand their
minds with some good ol' LSD. It's the next level of consciousness.

No, dividing by zero goes to infinity in it's limit. And not every infinity is equal either! Consider the set of counting integers. Infinite, correct? Now consider the set of ALL integers. Also infinite, correct BUT, you can subtract the set of counting integers from all integers and still have an infinite set!

Because infinity is not a number, it's a concept!

True. But simply dividing miles by gallons is undefined if gallons is 0.

So, about half the price of gas per mile. That is based on today's
typical prices but I think in 5 or 10 years oil will be more costly and
the price of electric cars will come down.

Most electric is produced by burning fossil fuels, solar and wind is a
drop in the bucket... wait'll you see what it costs to put air in your
tires with a compressor running by burning fossil fuel.... and where
will you get lubrication for axles, trannnys, hinges, etc., bear
grease? From kindergarten physics I learned that nothing is free.
Producing clean low cost energy is still light years away.... we'll
need to wait for the Aliens to arrive to teach us, most likely they
will annialate us.... try to imagine the Biden schmuck negotiating
with the Aliens. Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha. . .
The most educated part of Biden is his anus, it controls all his shit.

Hehe...Sleepy Joe *sure* is spewing a lot of shite, so his anus is not working so hot I guess...

Peeps forget that fossil fuels are used in every manufacturing process and to produce the MILLIONS of products that all consume in their daily lives....plus transportation - can't wait to see the "electric" version of a Boeing or Airbus airliner, it'd crash like Die Hindenburg, lol...

The "clean energy" mantra is one of the biggest scams in history, years from now future historians will laff at our bogglingly stoopid credulity...they'll consider us like the ancients who believed in the "miasma" theory of disease, or that bodies consisted of "four humors"...or that the Earth was flat...

No I do not! When an equation GOES TO INFINITY as the denominator GOES TO zero, those are concepts of calculus.

In any event, your car will never go infinity miles. A few tens or hundreds
of thousands at most.

There are a lot of Teslas on this rock. It's surprising given the high cost of electricity on this rock. Gasoline is expensive too so that helps. My driving will cost around $.09/mile in electricity. I get around 22 MPG = $.15/mile.

He had an environmentally friendly car? I don't think many Trump
supporters do.

He's not a Trump supporter. He's a libertarian who holds his nose and
votes for the Democrats because the Republicans are batshit crazy.
His car wasn't environmentally friendly. It was a 2001 Lexus that got
awful mileage. His current car is much better. It's a Hyundai Sonata
hybrid. Pretty soon he's going to buy a pickup truck because he likes
going out in the country as much as we do, and trucks have the
ground clearance to go on poorly maintained roads, and I'm getting
the Sonata.

Maybe if he mounted it on a rocket and sent it on a "deep space" probe...it could travel the universe for practically eons...some aliens millions of years from now would discover it and have *definite* proof that "life exists elsewhere in the universe"...!!!

they are doing a lot of development in solar + battery
storage and isn't the geothermal plant reopened by now?

that you have to import all of the fossil fuels used there
makes it a prime example of a place the benefits from the
advances made in recent years.

we're getting more wind and solar here, but it will be
years before we're off coal/oil/natural gas completely.

The geothermal plant started up last year and is expected to be fully operational this year. Hopefully, it won't be buried in lava again for at least 200 years.
I expect that within 20 years, all inter-island travel i.e., travel to the neighbor islands will be by electric planes.

Yep, 100% electric airplanes. Us mainland honkeys won't get those
until 2150. I'm still waiting for those air cars yoose predicted
several years ago.

But we did get the horribly overpriced hearing aides you sell on da
rock. Hundreds of assholes here.
