Default OT Well, when you DRIVE those Infernal Combustion Engine vehicles allover the place

then Global Warming is what you're gonna get!

And STL MO is getting a LOT of snow up from our southwest today, so for me it's Laundry Day! And staying inside as much as possible.

We've had barely any snow this winter. I haven't needed to use the snowblower
even once.

I use a broom whenever possible. NO ICE engines ever! Then snow melt as indicated.

In a typical winter, we get three feet of snow. A few winters ago we got five feet.
Many snowfalls exceed 8 inches. A broom is just not gonna cut it, and snow doesn't
melt when it's cloudy and the temperature is below freezing for weeks on end.

We *might* get about an inch or less of snow tomorrow morning. Baby amounts.

I had a 1995 regular Caravan named "Baby" when I moved in this house!

But it was killed, so I had to get a used 2006 Grand Caravan! I don';t drive it much.

I do deal with it. I fire up my snowblower and move the snow onto the lawn.

The new one has a four-stroke engine. Whee! No more mixing gas and oil.

I like it here in southern Ontario. Winters are relatively mild. Summers
are generally very pleasant. We don't get floods, hurricanes,
earthquakes, forest fires. Blizzards and tornadoes are rare. It was
about -4 C (25 F) here this morning went we went for a walk in the
woods. There is about 4" of snow. It was quite pleasant.

It snowed here last night and continued this morning, a bit over 6"
and 18ºF. We sometimes sweep or shovel a light snow otherwise we
plow with the tractor. I'm sure you can't sweep six inches of snow.
And that snow melt crap is more polluting than gasolene... if there's
ice where we walk we use sand or cat litter. We also have anti slip
things we strap onto our shoes... some people save their old golf
shoes for ice.

The electricity that you put into your electric car is created 100% by
COAL. Or do you travel INTERSTATE to rechargel your Leaf to somewhere
where they generate electricty using solar energy each time? NO you do
NOT. So you or your Leaf is not helping global warming AT ALL. And WHY
do you STILL own a gas guzzling Dodge? You fraud.

Because I had my gas guzzling Dodge 2008 before I had my non-gasoline burning Leaf, Baby II is pretty and runs well and is great for long distances and sounds FANTASTIC!

I drive my Leaf for all short distances I choose to or have to drive, which is most of my driving trips.

It is not 100% generated by coal. It is just *mostly* generated by coal.
Missouri has one nuclear power plant, and some hydroelectric, but it
is a coal intensive power grid.

True, but I don't think that anyone was suggesting that he ride a bike on LSD.
Besides, if he started expressing a love for bike riding, he might be branded a

What sort of lame bullshit reasoning is that?? After all your non stop
crowing about how much better you are then everyone else and you STILL
REFUSE to sell or dispose of a polluting machine. You are a fraud.

What part of "the electricity that you put into your electric car is
created 100% by COAL" does that address??

Anyone heat with oil? Just mix it in.

Anyone have a diesel engine? Mix it in.

Good for staring bon fires too.

Well yes. He's already had a wreck and then ran into his own house. Then he
had to pay for repairs out of his own pocket because he's too stupid to carry

next time you take the car in for an oil change take
those containers with you and have them recycle it for
you. just say it is waste oil to be recycled. should
be ok with them. better than dumping it on the ground
or burning it.

If you're as low on money as you sometimes indicate, and also rarely
drive, you have no business maintaining 2 vehicles.

Your gas burning Baby 2 would cost you less in gas
vs
Your coal burning electric that costs you $100 per month to keep
charged. (your words)

Use a regular bicycle (not an electric one) for minor short trips. Saves
money, saves the Earth, and gives you exercise to keep you healthy.

Good idea, I had not thought of that. It would work for heating, but
probably make loads of smoke. I would not want to use it in an expensive
diesel engine.

Maybe I can just take it to the local hazardous waste site. (i.e. where
we bring old paint etc.

I need to do something with my childhood chem set as well; I don't want
my survivors to, mostly because of the mercury. Not that it's really
dangerous, just that it should not be dumped.

Why loads of smoke? You don't see that much running a 2 cycle engine at
40"1. Add that five gallons to 200 of heating oil and it is minuscule.

Some people like to dump dangerous chemicals into heaing oil or diesel
to dispose of them covertly.

both horrible ideas. just recycle it, places will take it.

i think they will, but you can always ask them if it
isn't specifically listed. in fact they prefer it since
they want to avoid possible cross-contamination issues
(very similar to food processing safety concerns).

correct. most of it is likely to be harmless or easily
disposed but the mercury is one for sure worth doing properly.

thanks for thinking and asking!
