I have a Bosch convection oven that must be one of the worst things they
have ever made. I use the convection feature for all my cooking and last night turned it on to pre-heat for the lousy pizza I'd made. Sparks and flames!!! The convection element burned out. What a time to fail with next week's xmas baking looming. Luckily it has a conventional baking function with the element buried beneath the floor of the oven so I had a "stand-by. I have never used this so I will have to discover the oven's other foibles. Now I'm faced with the dilemma of either paying for an expensive repair or biting the bullet and replacing the whole shebang. As much as I'd like a Miele or other up-market replacement, it isn't worth it. When I eventually downsize to a smaller house or casket, this house will be jacked up and carted away to some rural location and a huge, triple-garaged mansion built in its place. |
