and don't taste appreciably different from the boxes they're packaged in.

I wasn't always a food snob. When I was in my 20s, I smoked cigarettes,
which meant that I could consume awful food w/o finding it objectionable.
Imagine working 3rd shift, and lunch being a whole package of this:

I'm familiar with KFC mashed potatoes. They're okay but nothing to write home about. I have been looking for large size container of dehydrated sliced potatoes. That would be just great but it's not available. Then, I would be making cheesy potatoes a lot.
