Use oranges instead of the fruit cocktail. It's better that way. https://www.rachaelraymag.com/recipe/almond-float |

Thanks one package (3oz) of orange jello, 2 cans of canned apricots, one package of cream cheese, 1 can of mandarin oranges (i'm sure you could use more if you wanted). we make a double batch... drain the apricots reserving one cup of liquid. use this for making the jello. so bring it to a boil and add the jello and then mix it well and let it cool off for a bit. i use my hand mixer to blend up the apricots and then put in the cream cheese and blend that in too. add the orange jello and mix that in and then at the end fold in the oranges. let that set up. all done. ![]() i'm sure for presentation you could make some different layers or leave more chunks in of the apricots, but we just put it all together. ![]() in a pinch we've used peaches instead of apricots, but do prefer apricots instead. i did have some for breakfast, it is pretty strong so i had some cottage cheese along with it to tone it down a bit... today is packaged food day as we're making smoky links and crescent rolls too. for extra filler i made up a pot of red beans the other day. songbird |
