I like them in a salad too. I had forgotten about that.
BTW - no onion slices in your salad?

I've only tried hummus once some years ago. Someone here highly
recommended the Trader Joe's brand so I bought some.
I wasn't impressed.

I do love falafel though, served in a pita with other
ingredients.
A local restaurant here makes them "to die for."

It's only mashed chickpeas/garbanzos with a bit of flavouring. It's
not a main act, but I like it.

I haven't given up on it but just haven't bothered to try
another source. I didn't like the "flavoring" of the Trader
Joe's kind.

Another false lead to Trader Joe's here was someone claiming
their ginger snaps were the best in the universe. Their
ginger snaps have that unique little dot of candied ginger
in the center but again, I wasn't impressed.

I did find a really good ginger snap. Stouffer's I think but
I haven't been to the store that sells them since March.

I like a good, garlicky hummus, and I'm a little unusual in preferring it
to be not too smoothly pureed. Happily, we've got a large Middle
Eastern population here and good hummus is easy to find.

You come across here as a "shut in" that rarely leaves
the house. You're too young for that. Get out more and enjoy
your nice ocean area while you still can. Someday you
won't have that choice.

The juxtaposition made me laugh.

Tahini (sesame seed paste), garlic and a bit of lemon juice and olive
oil. We often make it ourselves in the food processor.

Stauffer's ginger snaps:
enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine
mononitrate [vitamin b1], riboflavin [vitamin b2], folic acid), sugar,
palm oil, molasses, ginger, baking soda (for leavening), caramel
color, salt, soy lecithin (an emulsifier), cinnamon, cloves, chili
powder, red pepper

During covid a nice ocean area is good, but I'd only go to a store if
I had to, even if they sell Stauffer's ginger snaps.
