Default An excellent Soy Milkshake

It would benefit from being sweetened for some, but I like it the way it is..
2/3 cup blueberries
1/2 cup 3%Yogurt; I'd rather full fat, but they didn't have any
A good handful(about 3 leaves depending on size)of finely chopped kale
1/4 cup water
1 cup unsweetened soy milk
1 smallish avocado, peeled and diced.
Blend until smooth.

Add other things as you like such as walnuts etc. This shake is not low calorie, but it is tasty. Sweeten if you have to with stevia, raw honey, etc.
I wonder about putting some citrus zest in there along with lemon juice. How about some raw avocado peel, healthy yeah maybe but tasty?

a smoothie.

I can make he same thing by pouring milk into my tash can and hitting
it with a stick blender.

I really don't like what they call milk shakes these days, I prefer
the old time malted.

Mrs. Kushner, please make me a malted... Poof, yer a malted. LOL
Mrs. Kushner and Mr Kushner owned a candy-store lunceonette in
Brooklyn on the corner of McDonald Avenue and Quentin Road. She kept
the stainless steel malted containers in the ice cream freezer... dump
in two big scoops of Louis Sherry Vanilla, a scoop of malted powder.
and fill to a line with whole milk (Shefields), and let it go on high
on the malted blender. A malted made 3 full glasses. During the prep
I'd seat myself in a rear booth with a couple of Nancy and Sluggo
comic books... Mrs. Kushner would soon arrive with a frosty malted and
pour my first glass. I could spend a couple hours reading and sipping
a REAL malted. Mrs. Kushner was kinda thick and bubbe-like, she was
in her fifties and had huge boobs, but I was only nine years old then.
I sometimes still visualize her and think if I were only fourteen. Mrs
Kushner liked me because I never caused trouble and would just read
and sip her malteds. She would usually give me a big bosom hug, I
think she also wished I was fourteen.

Soy is puke, estrogenic and unhealthy (unless fermented).

Substitute with almond milk and the recipe is all good.

I bought a 1/2 gallon carton lactose free milk (I forget the brand) last
year simply because it was the only lowfat (2%) milk left at Family
Dollar. I didn't notice any difference in the taste at all. I was
surprised by the use-by date. It takes considerably longer to spoil
than regular milk, apparently because it's ultra pasteurized.

Was probably Lactaid... we buy Lactaid vanilla icecream to blend with
the cat's meds as all cats are lactos intolorant... they never throw
up the Lactaid so we know that they get their meds.
And they like the Lactaid vanilla ice cream and lap up the entire
little bowlful.
Trying to squirt liquid meds into a cat's throat is an exercise in
futility, pills too... but Lactaid vanilla icecream makes medicating
cats easy, they love the vanilla ice cream. A scant tsp of Lactaid
vanila ice cream mixed with their meds makes it easy peasy.
Most Vets are oblivious, we had to figure it out ourselvs.
I prepare meds twice a day, seven seconds in the nuker makes
the Lactaid just the right consistancy.

Yes. Milk does not like me, and years of reacting badly turned me off
the stuff. I can have small does of in puddings, custard, with cereal
etc, but I lost my taste for drinking it decades ago.

I don't drink a lot of dairy milk these days, just in tea or coffee
sometimes. But no intolerance here (that I have noticed).

I certainly don't have a problem with other people drinking milk. I just
can't remember a time when I ever liked milk. My parents used to try to
encourage me to drink it because at that that time it was thought that
milk was important to growing children and that it helped grow strong
bones.

I have three brothers, and they all loved milk. By the time I was 14 I
was bigger than my older brothers. Despite having been hard on my body,
I never broke a bone until I was 53, and that was a broken collar bone
incurred in a riding accident. Later on I broke a rib, maybe two or
three, in another riding accident. When I saw my surgeon after heart
surgery he told me that it was going to take a while for my ribs to heal
because they were so big. I guess that means that you can develop big
strong bones without drinking milk.
