Whats left? Dope soap. I just like the sound of it. leo |

P & G should have copyrighted the name and allowed it to be used only when advertised by their products. . Wiki: Originally serials were broadcast as fifteen-minute installments each weekday in daytime slots. In 1956, As the World Turns and The Edge of Night, both produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, debuted as the first half-hour soap operas on the CBS television network. All soap operas broadcast half-hour episodes by the end of the 1960s. |

I don't do it that often. Although the dominant plot arc is violence and drug manufacturing, the whole of Walter's domestic situation revolves around relationship difficulties. It's there are pure soap especially as it contributes little to the main plot (apart from connecting to the brother in law Hank and his killing much later). |

It's mainly about the trials and tribulations of the drugs business. I'm starting to wonder if you've ever seen a soap. They're those programs where you never stop when you're zapping. |

I watched a few minutes, then changed the channel...like all else "fantasy" these days it is *totally* CGI, a kid on any computer could do those special effects... I'm a huge fan of The Man in the High Castle, the book is one of my faves of the "alternative history" genre...watched the first season but then lost interest. One thing about creating an Axis - occupied USA of 1962 is that people would not be living in nice suburban tract homes and driving cool '57 Chevies and watching Rock Hudson movies or whatever, the only difference in contrast to our real history being Nazi flags all around, etc....simply not believable! -- Best Greg |

Every episode ends one story but also starts another story. Result...you always have to watch the next one to see what happens. They are addictive. |

If you'll read Julie's original post, her gauge for a huge beef roast is "bigger than a football". Not huge in my opinion. Cindy Hamilton |

A big steamship round where they cut off as needed for your sandwich. Good stuff. I have an 8 1/2 lb. rib eye I'm going to make on the rotisserie on Christmas day. Big, not huge. |

Big, not huge. 8 1/2 lbs is plenty for ten peaple. For Christmas I'm going to roast a 7lb butt half smaked ham. It won't all be eaten, most will be frozen for another meal, or two.... probably one other meal and the rest for pea soup. We like ham and eggs but not bacon... we both detest bacon. |

But I as disappointed in the spin off series, Better call Saul. It had its odd moment of glory but for the most part it was too limp. It must be me because it's run to 4 seasons. I gave up in season 2. |

Overwhelmed man living in the suburbs disgnosed with terminal cancer tries to look after his family while enduring a series of melodramatic encounters in which the players have strong characterisation. He keep his big secret away from his unsupportive wife and crippled son and especially from his FBI brother in law. Uses his chenistry skills but sadly drifts onto the wrong side of the law. Each episode finishes with a cliffhander to make sure the viewer comes back for more. Some parts sound melodramatic and soapy. The unusual high-res camera angles and regular violence don't change that. |

Yunno, I was wondering exactly that. I think my definition may be a bit too wide and that not all melodrama is soap. |

It turns out that Walter White didnt really have cancer. He was too full of midichlorians which makes €śBreaking Bad€ť a space dope soap. Im hearing that €śThe Rise of Skywalker€ť might be one too. Google "space opera" for even more confusion. leo |
