Default making bread with whey

Ive been making a lot of yogurt lately in my instant pot, which is leaving
me with a fair amount of whey. Im looking to make bread with it, but Ive
never done that before. I know there are several very experienced bread
bakers here. Has anyone made bread using whey?

I haven't ever made bread using whey, but I don't see why it wouldn't
work just fine. It is, after all, just another liquid. If I had whey
I would do it and just use the whey instead of whatever liquid my
recipe called for. I think that is exciting. Let us know how it
turns out. Rise times, flavor, browning, that sort of stuff.

I've used whey left from making cheese, when baking whole-grain rye
bread. Gives it a pleasant tang.

ditto!

for the old style bread that Grandma made she'd save the water
from boiling potatoes and use that. on the outside of the loaf
she'd use bacon grease if she had it. i recall her bread always
having a pretty chewy crust. Mom's bread isn't quite as chewy in
that way but otherwise tastes about the same.

I will! By all accounts, it makes bread just that much more delicious.
Tangier, like sourdough, but in less time. I wouldnt have thought to do
it, but when I was reading up on yogurt making, so many people mentioned
making bread with the leftover whey I was intrigued. If it doesnt turn
out, at least Ill have had the experience!

I've used potato water. In fact, I am sure that I have some recipes
that ask for it.

Not specifically but if it is like buttermilk, tis would work:

1 1/3C whey (was buttermilk)
1/3 C water
4 cups fluffed flour
2 TB butter
2 TB sugar
1 ts salt
2 ts yeast

Cut that down to 1/2 and see how it goes?

I'll look and see if I have any specific recipes later.

there are lots of whey recipes for bread on the 'Net. She just wanted
some reassurance
