Default Last Saturday's baked chicken

Â* It was a cold and stormy night ... no , wait , it really was !
Actually it was a rainy day , and I wanted some baked chicken , so I did
one up in the oven . But that's not what this post is supposed to be
about . After a couple of dinners and a few lunches , today I turned the
remains into chicken noodle soup . And I was told it's one of my better
batches . The weather is perfect for soup and chili (which she made for
me a couple of days ago) tonight there's a freeze warning and tomorrow
night is supposed to be even colder . Wouldn't surprise me to see snow
on the ground come morning , it's drizzling rain right now . Sure am
glad I got new A/T* tires on the SUV this morning ! Time to put the tire
chains back in just in case .
Â* * Kenda Klever LT265/75-16's , same as last time .

We're supposed to wake up to freezing temperatures Friday morning but Thursday
night, Halloween, it's supposed VERY chilly for the spooks. Mid 30's and
windy is the prediction.

It was 71° yesterday but it's been very cloudy and overcast all week. Most
every day when I get up I've got to turn lights on in the house as it's
just too gloomy. Sunny for Friday though! Expected high of about 54°..

Well, you and I don't have the same physiology. 83F is too warm for me
to be comfortable without AC and even then I run the ceiling fans.

Usually in the Spring there is at least a week when I can open the
windows and it's still nice and cool and not yet humid. Didn't happen
this year.

Fall... There was a total of three days when I could have the windows
open and it be nice and comfortable with just fans. Then it got hot and
humid again.

I hope it's finally beyond AC weather now.

Here on the coast of Virginia, it got up to 83F yesterday.
I almost turned on the AC but resisted. My fan kept me ok.

This morning windy and low of 48f. Looking at the next
week's predictions I think I'm now beyond the AC weather.

The past 10 days or so have been at or near record breaking temps. A
but cooler this morning, high will be about 80.

Halloween on my street was very quiet. One trick or treater. Some of
us were outside waiting though, and since it is a new street we got to
meet some of the neighbors.

Halloween eve was cool (40ºs) and drizzly with high winds, not even
one Trick or Treater so I polished off the small bag of mini Kit Kats
by 9 PM. And then the wind picked up considerably so that we lost
cable TV, came back on at 2:45 AM
Even in dreary light my 2nd gingko was dazzling in its full fall
foliage:
https://postimg.cc/jn4qdW06
First one a week earlier:
https://postimg.cc/jC191xpC
Gingkos lose all their leaves pretty much within 24 hours... the two
trees turn a week apart.
Two weeks ago the County installed a new culvert under the road, the
ancient steel one had rusted away:
https://postimg.cc/fkZTLh5H
In the process their excavator knocked over our utility pole so no
electric, phone, or cable... it was old and needed replacement anyway
so within six hours a new bigger and better one was installed... and
for free. Since it was our pole on our property and owned by us we'd
have needed to pay for a new one, around $2,000... for free was a nice
gift. Electric was hooked up right away, phone and cable the next
day. The new pole was installed in a better spot, closer to the road:
https://postimg.cc/0zLZGnBN
A very busy couple of days with heavy equipment and work crews coming
and going and the road was closed to thru traffic.

That's definitely AC temps at my house. No snow there, though. Nor
here. It was a complete surprise the one time I did see snow here.

At least you bought the "good" candy. Share it with some of your
newly met neighbors... wait, they probably bought candy, too. I hear
frozen Peanut Butter Cups are pretty darned good.

Plus 2 C here this morning, about 35F. It was extremely windy and
raining last night. When I calms down I will go out and clean up the
branches.

I was expecting only 3 kids so I had bought 6 chocolate bars, two
KitKat, two Coffee Crisp and two Oreo Cookie bars. The three neighbour
kids that came last year did not show up, but Farmer John's son came by
with his four kids. I was glad to see them take the Oreo Bars. I did not
want to be stuck with them but I guess I was right about their appeal to
kids.

Thanks for the nice pics, Sheldar.
I enjoy all pics from people that I talk to here.
Doesn't always have to be food ones. Around the home
ones take it a bit more personal and are nice.

I see now that you have very close neighbors. I've always
had the impression that you had none in close sight.

One question for you about the ones across the street.
Isn't that a Christmas Manger scene they have out front?
If so, is that up way early already or is it a
permanent decoration? The housing looks pretty solid.

If it's a permanent decoration, I would keep my doors
locked at night.

I have neighbors but even the close ones are not all that close. The
neighbor acrosss the road lives in a house about 500' back from the
road, that's an out building you see that was originally for a horse
and carriage, then a one car garage, and now expanded to be a
gardening shed, but from the prior owner, the people there now don't
do gardening

That's their nativity manger, it's actually on a trailer. Usually
they tow it way back behind their house after the holiday season but
last year he was ill from severe diaetes and decided to leave it
there. At night it's dark here, we have no street lights so no one
sees it, I can't see it at night either. During the Holidays he has
it lit for 2-3 weeks but not very brightly.

Why... what does that decoration have to do with locking doors?
Some people here lock their doors and some don't, I really don't know
who locks their doors.

It could also be wild horny wimmens intent on raping poor Popeye.

Yoose about the only wimmens on the planet that hasn't raped that
poor sailor yet.

I remember yoose trying, but Popeye was onto yoose, and he escaped

No one needs to warn me. I've been inside a church (house of worship)
twice in my life, once for a funeral (someone I worked with) and once
for a wedding (a long time friend's 2nd marriage). Only once a few
jehovas rang my bell, I commented how the youngish (~20) female had
lovely large bosoms, they all abruptly departed. I don't own a bible.
I've never read any part of any bible. The closest I've been to a
bible are those in motel rooms... I leave them sleep in the
nightstand.
I find all religeon offensive, a major assault on intellect.
The one thing I don't asppreciate about Trump is how he constantly
lauds god, I know with every fiber of my being that he;s ly

....lying, yes, because he wants and needs support from the Christian
right-wing. And those fools happily vote for the biggest sinner who
ever occupied the White House.

You cannot just say 'biggest sinner'. Trump wants to be remembered forever
by everyone as the most powerfully masculine, generously benevolent,
athletically dexterous, lovingly respected and humbly intelligent sinner
who ever occupied the White House.

Only a imbecile would believe that his own brain is perfect. Ironic, ain't it?

We need a white guy in the White House pronto. That's the only thing that will bring this country together. MATA - Make America Together Again. It should be now clear that a significant part of Americans will not accept a colored or female president. Do I have to also add that he should not be a amoral, misogynistic, narcissistic, lying nutcase, or a morally compromised, religious fanatic? Evidently.
