It's fine for cooking. But I normally buy the salted. |

Otherwise it's always unsalted for me. It is good on bread as the bread is salted already. And in dishes such as a clam chowder, I can salt the soup myself. |

Contact Thomas and see if he won't send you his unsalted butter. Personally, I think it is quite flavorless and here there is no difference in the price of salted vs. unsalted. |

I've made some ghee with salted butter. The methods for making ghee specify using unsalted butter but once you remove all the water from the product, all the salt precipitates out. It's kind of a neat thing to see. |
