Default Daisy-chan makes a difficut call

Being the only 4foot left in Chez Shenks, and the reader of names,

sniff

I must tell you I need an alcolyte who is able to take over. My health
is failing. I am at least 20 and may be older. No one knows how old I
am.

I look about though, and I am pretty sure I am the eldest here, much
like my loved Aunti Mabel was for the doggies (might have been 20.5!)
and Iowna at 17 and (sob) Cash at probably 15.

Not suprising that it is time to call for another to be ready.
Afterall, I had various Chez Shenks at the ready, in case before. Now,
it's just me.

What is needed to do this? Only 1 thing. Heart.

Balim (twelve-year-old cocker spaniel) died in July 2018 from
haemolytic anaemia. She was the last in an overlapping chain of
four-footers that extended back to 1987. Owing to health issues I
didn't really want to acquire a new dog. But whaever plans one may
make, it's the Universe that makes the calls. I posted the story of
Chicco's arrival in rec.pets.dogs.behavior at the time; I posted an
update a few minutes ago.

I saw. I have added Balim to the rainbow list. We know each other in
the dog group. Chicco is perfect! Seeing him finally accept 'I am
home' and playing the sock pull with you is perfect.

Meantime, I apologize. My post was meant for another group.

There are several lively pet groups. REC.PET.CATS.COMMUNITY is my
personal favorite. There you get to play act as your pet, have dances,
balls, cookouts and all sorts of crazy stuff.

REC.PETS.CATS.Anecdotes - chat about your cat sort of place. Not a
story board sort but some regulars here are there.

REC.PETS.DOGS.BEHAVIOR (Opinicus and I are there and at least one other
from here). Chat about dog issues.

REC.PETS.DOGS.Health - sporadically active, often same posts as in
RPDB.

Â* Max wasn't a rescue , but his mother was . We also have had a
succession of givers of unconditional love ... and while it hurts when
they leave us , their gift of love makes it worth the pain .

In the REC.PETS.CATS.COMMUNITY, we have a 25 year long tradition of an
annual Jellicle Ball. It's based on the phases of the moon as to when
it happens but roughly Oct/Nov is when it lands.

While we do other things (birthday parties and whatnot) during the
year, that's the big one. Shortly we will start chattering about
locations for the next one. We always (at least now) hold them in a
different place. 2-3 years ago, it was a hidden community of cats in
Antarctica with deep hot pools that heated the inside caves. We've
done ancient castles, Hawaii, Koh Kood and high mountains above
California fires. As you drop in, we weave a story about with all
adding bits and pieces. Doggies who are cat friendly are welcome. At
the height, we read a list of all the pets who have passed before us
(and humans who were part of the group or close to a group member).
There's even a web page with all the names back to about 1995 or so.

The list isn't secret.

Blinkers, House of Joan
Sammy, House of Joan
Millie Girl, House of Nancee
Cash, House of Chez Shenks
Penny (rebeccas's nieces dog), House of
Sundance, House of Stright
Tardar Sauce, House of Tabitha
Shawnee, House of Evetta
Iowna, House of Chez Shenks
Brandy, House of Arlene
Drake, House of Steele
Balim, House of Opinicous
Woofie, House of Denise

That's 2019 so far. Cash and Iowna were mine.
