Default Is Internet/phones/TV out at your place?

I can get most news reports and channels here on my computer, my phone
and cell work as does the TV. Some stuff just times out on the
computer. There's only dead air when dialing Costco and a neighbor
says her bank is closed. All because of the Century link nationwide
blackout. I haven't seen anything promising yet about return of
service. Someone speculated a day or so.
When you think of all the businesses that operate with linked
computers, it's scary how much business can be shut down.

Hmmm. I have Century Link telephone service and it's working just fine.
I haven't watched the news today but this blackout hasn't affected my
phone service.

I wouldn't bundle all my communication services in one package, ever.
Cell phones don't work well here so if the Internet or TV goes out how
am I supposed to call someone to report a problem? It's the same reason
I won't use Comcast for my home phone service. If my TV or Internet
connection goes out I'd have no way to contact anyone.

I'm a "don't put all your eggs in one basket" kinda gal.

I don't have Century Link at all but that doesn't mean that some of my
connections and others in the nation don't pass through CL

I don't have a cell phone, but my CenturyLink "package" is working just fine (all parts of
it). (Iowa).

The interference seems to appear in large blotches across the U.S.

Some require more education than others. I feel one who is reticent to give up sins!

"Reticent" means "unwilling to speak". "Reluctant" means unwilling to act.

Web traffic is probably a lot higher during the Christmas holidays. It's just internet traffic congestion.

dsi1, no, it isn't traffic. CenturyLink is investigating what happened. Like, maybe someone
hacked the system. Or some quirk occurred.
