I see. When the topic of crumpets appeared she Googled and found the only crumpet shop around, which happens to be not too far from where she lives now. She checked out the menu and saw that this unique chop sells savory crumpets with eggs on top. Hence the egg issue. |

I've > never made or eaten one though. > They aren't all that popular here either. I don't remember ever seeing them on a restaurant menus, but that are commonly sold in grocery stores. We had them frequently when I was a kid and always liked them. I used to buy them once in a while but as years went on the quality deteriorated. I figured it was time to try making them. The first recipe I tried worked out well several times. They were quite easy and the results were great. Unfortunately, the batch I tried on the weekend were a major disappointment. |
