Turkey looks good, can't stand the whole cranberries and I don't know what
that stuff in the upper right portion of the picture is.

I LOVE the whole cranberries and the "stuff" is exactly correct! It's STUFFING!

I used some orange juice to cook the cranberries and added orange rind
after cooking - I think they're delicious, but the comment from one of
my kids was "bland and sour" - oh well more for me!

Cranberries and turkey are discernible but you'll have to 'splain what else
is on the plate.

southeast quadrant is some pseudo rice dressing courtesy of our guests,
covering/mixed up with my awesome bread stuffing, all of that slathered
in gravy

southwest quadrant is cheesy broccoli with bread on top, also courtesy
of our guests

Looks fine to me... doesn't your kid realize that Christmas is right

Can't stand the cooked cranberries, and that's dressing in the upper right.
It never saw the inside of a turkey.

We had turkey for lunch yesterday. We did the last of the yard work
(gutters, put away the patio furniture, blow the water our of the
hoses with the compressor, haul away the last of the big pots on the
patio). Then we swapped the full-size sofa in the living room for
a love seat and hauled the sofa to the curb. Some guys came and got
it right before I was going to roll it into the garage for the night.
Hooray!

We were both tuckered out, so we had pizza and salad delivered.

Today I'll bring the Christmas tree up from the basement and set it up.
Sad that we have to use an artificial tree, but DH is allergic to pine
pollen. If I'm really energetic I'll put the lights on it. If I'm
really, really energetic, I'll drag the old man out to the appliance
store to look at stoves.

Die?

Honestly, when I have a weekend of sitting staring at the television,
it scarcely seems worth mentioning. You're not getting a well-rounded
picture.

Then get a fir tree or a spruce tree... Canadian hemlock makes an
attractiove Christmas tree too I doubt you will find any pine trees
sold as Christmas trees... pine trees are grown for lumber. they get
very large and as they grow they lose their lower branches so don't
have that conical Christmas tree shape.

And besides, the conifers used for Christmas trees produce pollen in
late spring and early summer, by the time winter rolls around they've
long stopped producing pollen and any clinging to the trees has been
washed off by rain.

We stopped buying cut trees, they are too messy and we see no point in
supporting the killing of a perfectly healthy tree. For the past ten
years we've planted a live tree. Some sixty years ago much of this
property was used as a Christmas tree farm so now there are many very
mature trees, however they produce saplings and whenever I see one
that looks particulary nice I transplant it to a more conspicuous
place. I've been moving Norway spruce and Colorado spruce to our cat
cemetary. We've been here 16 years and so far six cats have expired,
all in marked graves in a hedgerow. The hedgerows here are strewn
with rocks of various sizes, I pick out a small boulder for a
headstone and chisel their names and dates in it. The last one was
for Joiner, she's resting in a nice spot under a forest pansy She
still needs a headstone and I have one picked out but it's been way
too cold, that stone is frozen in ground. I was able to dig her grave
just before the ground froze... for now it's marked with a pile of
small stones. I bury the ferals too.

No. The last couple of years we bought a Fraser fir, he started wheezing
pretty much as soon as the tree came in the house.

He put the lights on it, and we've got a new stove on order:

This one:

Although of course we did not pay the "MSRP".

Wow lucky you) I would love a stove like that I have separate gas hob
and electric oven. The hob is great but the oven is getting rather worn
out.

No. The last couple of years we bought a Fraser fir, he started wheezing
pretty much as soon as the tree came in the house.

He put the lights on it, and we've got a new stove on order:

This one:

Although of course we did not pay the "MSRP".

Very nice. I have a GE Profile gas stovetop bought many years ago, has been
a great stovetop.

I like it! I converted back to a gas range about 5 years ago after using
a glass top stove for about 20 years. Really do like my gas range and was
raised with one in the house so it was just a day or two to get used to it.

When I did my Thanksgiving ham I used the timed baking feature for the first
time and REALLY like it. When the signal went off I went to the kitchen and the oven had shut itself off and cancelled the cook time. Nice!

I have a ceramic table-top tree my eldest brother made for our mother
back in 1966. That's pretty much my nod to Christmas decorating. I
might hang a faux wreath on the front door with faux icicles and
ribbons. It's in a box in the garage. I'm waiting for the mood to
strike me.

Good luck on the stove hunting!
