I think it is a favourite activity for some monkeys. I used to look
after on when I was animal caretaker for the Psych department at
university. Just about every time I went into his home he would be
choking the chicken.

My recommendation for parents with little kids is they just bypass the monkey house during a day at the zoo. Those critters are in serious need of some underwear. OTOH, young couples would probably find it highly amusing. In that case, the monkey house can be the high point of a visit to the zoo.
