Put them and their liquid in a microwave safe bowl and cook according to package directions. They're usually ready to eat in 2-3 minutes. I don't have a waffle iron but that is a good idea for hash browns. I'd be tempted to pour a beaten egg into the hash browns, lightly stir, and then cook the combination in waffle maker. The individual frittatas sound interesting and I've seen recipes for them in the past. One of these days I'm going to try this method for smaller individual ones with different additions. |

Even when I was working and rushing around in the morning I found time to cook large flake oatmeal. I would get it going, then go up to shower, shave and dress. FWIW, I prefer to start oatmeal in cold water. The porridge us much smoother and creamier than the results of throwing hots into boiling water. |

Fortuitously, the other things I need to do to prepare breakfast take just about the 2.5 minutes that the oats requi I pour a glass of milk, measure a teaspoon of sugar, get out the butter, open my browser. Yes, I measure the sugar. A little too little or a little too much doesn't taste right to me. Cindy Hamilton |

The easiest way to cook pin oats is with a crock pot (no stirring). Pin oats was the ONLY thing I found a slow cooker did well.... put a batch up in the evening and set it for nine hours, was ready for breakfast. |
