The round plugs are PS2 (old school).

The flat ones are USB.
The computer SHOULD have USB ports you can use.

There ARE adapters available, but you'd be better off using a USB
port.

OK, thanks for that answer, it cleared up some things for me, the computer
does have USB ports, but the silly video showed the round being highlighted.
Again, thanks. I'm sure (hoping) the tech knows what to do.

Computers are dead easy to hook up. Most of your plug ins/ports should be
color coded. If USB, then plug into any USB port.

You plug your mouse and keyboard into BLACK USB 2.x ports. You plug
your hard drives, USB network adapters, class 8+ thumb drives and SD
cards into BLUE USB 3.x ports to make them most efficient.

The round one is a mini-DIN and probably has a spot at the back of the
machine to plug it in direct.

I think a wireless mouse is much more user friendly... as is a
wireless keyboard.

I have a wireless mouse at home and wired mice at work. I can't
tell any difference among them.

You don't find the wires annoying, you must be comatose.

Wires are ROCK SOLID connections! If they are connected/plugged in!

You must find your wireless signals getting hacked or failing sporadically!

Signals drop out much? ;-)

I can't speak for Sheldon, but I've never, ever, ever, not once had my
wireless signal getting hacked or failing sporadically. Nope, n-o-t a
s-i-n-g-l-e time.

I like a wireless mouse, too, but I do have a wired one squirreled away
'just in case.' But my laptop has the keyboard attached to the screen
as you'd expect with a laptop. I do use this laptop table and it really
like it and of course it can be set up for either left or right-handed
users.

Anyone buying a laptop should get a mouse-less (is that touchpad on the front of the
Keyboard called a touchpad?) laptop. It took me very little time to get used to it, and
then there is no mouse to mess with.
