We already went this route before with the milk companies. They
swamped the Caribbean countries with it, making sure mums had lots of
free milk and bottles given to them and then of course came the crunch
when the woman couldn't afford to keep buying the formula. Then to
try and spin it out they diluted it far more than it should be, with
water that often was not the best for a baby, then the babies became
ill.

I detest companies that do these loathsome things to people.

We are the laughing stock of the world! Thanks to the direction this nation has been taking for the past 40 or 50 years, maybe longer!! Severely bad recently too! WAY behind the times!

Because our government has been taken over by nationalists. If
the WHO said "Oxygen: it's good for breathing" the U.S. government
would outlaw it.

Why do we have to be polite and call skin heads, Nazis and white

Would they return the favor?

I was using the word in accordance with its dictionary definition

: loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially : a sense of national consciousness (see consciousness 1c) exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups

Intense nationalism was one of the causes of the war.

I didn't ask for my first cat (Persia). She just showed up and cried at
my back door for hours. No one claimed her (the vet didn't find a
microchip, either). So I wound up with a cat. She was a hoot! She
died in 2010 at the age of about 16.

Three years ago someone living a few streets over died. She had a
couple of cats that needed a home. I adopted one of them (Buffy) and
she's a total love-bug.

I've never been "ambivalent" about my pets. If, for some reason, I
couldn't take care of one or simply didn't want to, I'd try to find it a
good home.

In the US, cats are pussies. It also means a person that lack courage in some endeavour. However "pussy", in the home of the brave and the land of the free, also refers to a woman's vagina. My guess is that it would have the same weight and meaning as your word "fanny." Pussy was a word that most females in the US didn't much care for. Mr. Trump has pretty much blown that word waaay into the open.

Mr. Trump has pretty much blown that word waaay into the open.

Yeah, because it wasn't already in the open...

"It can't happen here." Has there been any words that have ever been more untrue?

In the US, cats are pussies. It also means a person that lack courage in
some endeavour. However "pussy", in the home of the brave and the land of
the free, also refers to a woman's vagina. My guess is that it would have
the same weight and meaning as your word "fanny." Pussy was a word that most
females in the US didn't much care for. Mr. Trump has pretty much blown that
word waaay into the open.

Trump's supporters have completely missed that he has the emotional maturity of a 12 year old boy. The religious right is certainly aware that he treats women like pieces of meat but they're willing to sell out our their principles in hope of gaining some leverage in governmental power. Mostly, they will just lose credibility with a new new flock of young people.

Trump + Pence will be responsible for the jester-fication of Christianity in the US. It comes at a time when Christianity can ill afford any loss of credibility or relevancy. That's the breaks.

Interesting American man talking on the radio yesterday. He said go
back, right back to the Pilgrim Fathers and therein lies the answer.
They were religious misfits who wanted total control of everyone and
were prepared to cross the ocean to get it. Toute ca change and all
that.
