Default Tonight's dinner.

I made a brown rice pilaf, loosely following a recipe that I found online.
Got lucky and found some Woo Hoo fresh mushrooms. I need to try eating a
piece of almond and see what it does to me. Allergist said that I had OAS to
them. I had always eaten them but one day they made my throat itchy. I
really love them and they are in this pilaf.

Basically, I toasted some slivered almonds in a little butter. Then removed
the almonds and toasted the brown rice. Added some carrot, cut into small
pieces and some chopped mushrooms. Cooked in chicken broth instead of water.
No salt needed as the broth was plenty salty. Added black pepper, parsley
and a soy sauce. The soy sauce was also salty. Recipe called for 2 T soy
sauce for 1 cup rice. Cook for approx. 45 min.

Also asparagus. These were thin stalks needing only 7 min. in the oven on an
olive oiled baking sheet. Salt and pepper added. Roast till they are done to
the tenderness you like, goodly squeeze of lemon juice on top then a
sprinkle of Parmesan.

Also chicken breasts pan fried in a little olive oil and seasoned with
Montreal chicken seasoning.

None of this was for me. I had Stouffer's stuffed peppers and a little
leftover mashed potatoes. Was not planning to buy the peppers but Fred Meyer
had one of those stupid ads where you had to buy 6 of mix and match items to
get the sale price. Had I known that the toothpaste I wanted was on that ad,
I would be eating something else! Heh! But instead of trekking back to put
the peppers back, I bought their brand of toothpaste instead.
