I may have to use my nephew in Portland's address, if he agrees! He's the one I'm confabbing with for KutheChocolates.com 's main first product: English Toffee. My nephew's recipe with 1/2 cup brown sugar! He made some for this past Christmas while I was on the phone with him and he was gonna make one more batch of toffee and didn't have quite enough white sugar, but said he had some brown sugar and was kind of hesitant until I told him very emphatically "How gross can it be? Do it!" and he did and it worked wonderfully! It's our cornerstone KutheChocolates product! And it's EASY to ship!! :-) My retirement career! :-) John Kuthe... |

HE WAS NOT LYING!! He KNOWS THE WORDS!! Get real, John. According to Ed, your candy is very good and worth the money that he never paid. heheh I do remember your old price list back when Ed did pay for it a few years ago. Not cheap at all but maybe worth the price. If you want to go into a business with this, you might become a great success but do it right. Research all the rules and regulations and do it by the book. Don't try to skirt by the laws, you moron. Do it all proper and legal. You might become a candy tycoon some day, doing something that you love. You have what? 2-3 college degrees but it's obvious you don't have a business degree. Many people do something well but without a knowledge of how to run a business, most fail fairly quickly. At least QUIT posting publically how you plan to cheat on the laws. good grief! |

Two or three days a week, 100 of the school's freshmen have been taking up saws and ladders, hammers and levels, and slowly building what teacher Tim Hryciw calls "basically finished garden sheds"€”64 square feet, with two windows and a door. For the school, it's an engaging way of teaching geometry, clearly enjoyable to the 14-year-olds busying themselves around the lot on a recent Monday. For the City of Portland, it's a way to tinker with how homeless camps will soon look in this city. The four structures being built behind Benson today won't just house homeless people when they're completed in coming weeks. The city says they'll also serve as prototypes for an untold number of similar structures going forward€”"sleeping pods" that can be cheaply and quickly built for organized camps as Portland wrestles with a housing emergency. "The whole idea is to mass produce," says Josh Alpert, chief of staff to Mayor Charlie Hales. "Clearly there is a demand for camps and it's not going to end any time soon." The "bad": http://www.oregonlive.com/business/i...considers.html Columbia Sportswear CEO Tim Boyle and Portland mayor-elect Ted Wheeler last November celebrated the opening of new offices downtown. Columbia now may close the offices and relocate 50 jobs due to what executives say are unsafe and unsavory conditions in downtown. The celebration did not last long as employees reported clashes with aggressive panhandlers and repeated car break-ins. One worker said her life was threatened. "It is a relief when the only thing we are dealing with is the garbage and human waste by our front door," Boyle said in an op-ed column submitted to The Oregonian/OregonLive. "Think about that for a minute." "We knew it was an urban environment," Boyle said in an interview Friday. "We thought it was a good opportunity to be part of this millennial movement of young people setting up shop downtown. But at the end of the day, I have to ensure the safety of my employees." And the "ugly": http://www.kgw.com/news/politics/may...s-us/435436532 PORTLAND, Ore. -- What began as a peaceful march for labor rights on May Day in Portland turned violent as a group of self-described anarchists threw objects at officers and officers fired non-lethal weapons back. Police canceled the permitted march and deemed it a riot as tensions escalated. Portland police arrested 25 protesters, on charges ranging from arson to assault, criminal mischief and theft. All 25 suspects were cited for failing to obey a peace officer, and police said the arrests will be reviewed for additional charges. "In Portland we respect peaceful protest, but we do not and cannot support acts of violence and vandalism," Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said Tuesday morning. "That's not political speech. That's crime." "Last night was another chapter in a story that has become all too familiar in Portland: Protests that begin peacefully but devolve quickly due to the actions of those whose only desire is to damage people and property," he said. €śUnfortunately, yesterday, like we've seen in the past, a small group of folks hijacked a lawfully permitted event, and almost instantly started doing crimes and committing vandalism, breaking windows and setting things on fire. So, an unfortunate turn of events yesterday for the city of Portland,€ť said Portland Police Chief Mike Marshman. |

Can't be done!! > > John Kuthe... > Bet me? http://www.businessinsider.com/momen...-hiring-2016-6 A robot-powered burger joint is coming to San Francisco. In 2012, secretive robotics startup Momentum Machines debuted a machine that could crank out 400 made-to-order hamburgers in an hour. It's fully autonomous, meaning the robot can slice toppings, grill a patty, and assemble and bag the burger without any help from humans. The internet flipped out. Years of relative silence ensued, but in January, Hoodline's Brittany Hopkins learned that the San Francisco-based startup had applied for a building permit to convert a ground-floor retail space in the SoMa neighborhood into a restaurant. Now it looks like the restaurant is actually happening. A job posting on Craigslist from early June gives us our first glimpse into how the company's future flagship, presumably opening soon, might work. "This location will feature the world-premiere of our proprietary and remarkable new advances in technology that enable the automatic creation of impossibly delicious burgers at prices everyone can afford," the ad explains. Just look at that burger: According to the job posting, Momentum Machines is looking for a self-motivated, conscientious applicant to take on the role of "restaurant generalist" at the restaurant. It describes the ideal candidate as "autonomous," which seems about right since future robotic coworkers will also be quite autonomous. But just because robots make the food doesn't mean there isn't human-worthy work to be done. "[You will] learn to do everything that's part of running a restaurant in San Francisco," the ad explains. That includes taking customers' orders, scheduling shifts, and occasionally taking out the trash and tidying up. Oh joy...no janitorial robot yet... Bwyan will be stroked to know he's not been obsoleted yet... |
