I have been known to do that too... depending on the nature of the
trash. I just thought it was weird about this guy because he was
carrying on so much about it. He was gesturing and pointing and saying
something to his wife about it. I could not help but think that if it
bothered him so much he could have picked it up and carried it to the
trash can that he would be walking right past on the way into the Y.

We can be fined for not picking up our dog's mess. But I always have done
and always will.

You're supposed to do it here too or face a fine, but you'd be surprised how
many leave those piles in other peoples yards! Damned slobs!

I've delivered it back to the dog's owner. I bet they appreciated it too.

Once when dh was outside doing yard chores some woman allowed her dog to
poop on our front lawn and then she walked off. He said he was too surprised
to say anything at the time, so he got a plastic bag and cleaned it up, if
it was me...I would have chased her down and made her come back while giving
HER the plastic bag to clean it up. Good thing she got him. LOL

Ed has the right idea..... return it to the owner's house.

I take my dog to a leash free park. Most of the people are pretty good
about cleaning up after their dogs, and are also pretty good about
letting owners know that their dog has had a dump. There is the
occasional person who seems to think that picking up their dog's shit is
beneath them, and they will be reminded that it is their responsibility.

I did that once years ago. My eldest grandson as a toddler on OUR
grass trod in dog poo. I knew whose dog it was so I shovelled it up
and put it in his mailbox. When he knocked on the door raving his
head off I told him he might have thought it was a nice gift, but we
really didn't want it and perhaps if he didn't like it, he should see
a lawyer I was laughing because at that point he was a Crown
Prosecutor

That's funny! Supposed to uphold the laws. I had a neighbor in the
house next door who was renting. She didn't walk her dog. She'd just
open the back door, let it out and it would poop in my back yard. It
was a Great Dane. A very big dog. Left very big poop.

I didn't deliver the dog poop to her but I put a note in her mailbox
asking her to please observe the leash laws and don't just let out and
poop in my yard. I'd observed this a couple of times.

She rang my doorbell one evening at 9PM. Showed up with her dog at her
side (not on a leash). Did you leave me this note? Yes. She went
ballistic! She started shrieking, "HOW DARE YOU!" How dare I what?
Ask you not to let your dog poop in my yard?!

I had to threaten to call Security to get her and her huge (non
threatening, just a big pooper) dog away from my front door.

Some people are just crazy. Thankfully she moved two months later.

It's bad enough that people let their dogs crap on other people's lawns
and not clean it up, but some intentionally take their dogs elsewhere
and encourage it. When I was a teen there was someone from another
street who frequently brought her dog to crap in our front yard and
would stand there and encourage the dog to have a dumb there, then
praise it when the dirty deed was done. My brother went out and
confronted her one day and she wisely stopped. I guess she took him
seriously when he said he would pick it up and throw on her front steps.

There are some pick it up in those little poop bags and then leave the
bag there. I see those things on the walking trails around here. Heck,
they could have just flicked the turds into the bushes and no one would
see them. I saw a lady do it on a bicycle trail on day. She had picked
the stuff up, tied the bag, looked around to see if anyone was watching.
I pointed it out as I went by and she said that it must have slipped
out of her hand. Yeah. Right.

We once visited with some friends in Sweden who had two dogs and took
them for long walks every night. The only mow the grass on one side of
the trails on a regular basis and the other side is for curbing your
dogs. The turds are hidden in the long grass.

My brother's house was the last on the block and then there was an empty
lot on the corner. People occasionally would leave trash. He saw one
car dump two bags. He saw the car, found the address in the bag. The
fool left the windows down when the parked the car that night.

I am in a rural area and there is the odd bag of garbage left at the
side of the road by someone who does not appreciate the two bag limit in
the city. Someone left on on my lawn one day. They had not even bothered
to tie it closed. Among the items that spilled out were a couple of
pieces of mail with the address on it. I was going into town that day
and willingly went a couple miles out of my way to return it to the
rightful owner. I did it in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday.
What's the guy going to do?

It reminds me of our friend Bert who had a neighbor whose dog was in his
yard a lot, sometimes pooping, he blew up at her and told her he did not
want her dog in his yard anymore, ever. She told him that his kids played in
her yard sometimes...to which he said, the day that one of my kids shits in
your yard you make sure to tell me and I'll make sure to clean it up! The
story was always good for a laugh.

A few years ago a person on Dataw got so irritated about someone not
picking after their dogs they actually put a proposal in front of the
board that they take dog DNA samples. So they could find out which
slobs who don't pick up after their dogs. (laughing)

OMG, you have to be kidding. How on earth would they be able to keep up
with that? Is the person who was offended by dog poop supposed to take
a sample to Security to have it tested? All dog owners must give a poop
sample? What about people who bring pets when they come to visit?
Leave some poop at the gate for DNA testing? I'm sure the folks at
Security would *love* to collect samples of dog poop. LOL

It was ridiculous and hilarious. I agree people should pick up after
their dogs. For the most part they do. Doggie DNA was a ridiculous idea.

Yep. People walk their dogs by my house and leave colorful bags in my trees.
Only took me once of a "Gee... What's that pretty little thing?" to know to
leave them alone.

Now you're bordering on crazy again. People leave colorful bags of poop

You should - believe it. People here put in the colourful dog poop
bags and there is a cut through from the road below me, up to this
road. People going up/down there often (judging by the numbers) see
fit to dump the bags over the rail, down on to the garden trees below.

I saw a funny old western movie the other night.
As a trick, these two picked up and moved the outhouse
back about 3 feet then waited.

In the dark, the person finally came out of his house
to use the outhouse. Right before he got to it, he fell
into the nasty poopy pit which was now in front of the
outhouse, not inside.

It was funny, guess you had to be there and see it. ;-D

It could have been that, Jill. That movie was playing a few
nights ago and I might have seen it there while channel hopping.
It might have been another western show though.

Who gets fined for all the goose poop in my yard, and skunk, raccoon,
deer, etal.? In the 15 years I'm living here I've not once seen a dog
running loose, they'd become a meal.

If people are walking those things around on leashes into your space, then
they should clean up the poop!

Those geese are aiming at Popeye, but he doesn't know that.

But you see they don't have owners ... although I suppose if they are living
on your land, you might be considered to be the owner <g>

How about dirty diapers, used tissues and rotten food with hornets
buzzing around it?

I'm sure glad I don't live in a place like that.

I don't hang out on my front lawn but I do appreciate the many people
walking their dogs and letting them use it as a depository to pick up
after it. Most of them do.

I appreciate the poop pickers-up, too, but it ****es me off when they put their bags of poop in my
city trash can when it is on the curb for pickup on the weekly trash day. I know it is irrational for me
to let it bother me, bit it does.

Surely it is better than letting the poop lay naked all over your ground?

Nancy2, that would bother me, maybe. You're paying for the service via
taxes, why would someone feel free to put bags of poop in your trash
can? Don't they have their own trash can?

I live in a rural area. Trash pickup is not provided by the city or the
county. I pay a local service to pick up my trash every week. I'd be
irritated if someone started dumping things into it without permission.
Then again, I suppose it's better than finding bags of dog poop on my lawn.

DH takes the dog for a daily walk of a couple of miles, but he puts her in
the back yard first and she does her business there as a rule. Dogs are
pretty good at picking up schedules for different things.

I would prefer they took the bags home and simply flushed it down the
toilet. That way it would at least fetch up in a poop place.
