So I've been deciding who is "Naughty or Nice", and I like sending my favored peeps food - related stuff. Here are some of my "go - to" culinary gifting sites, I've used them for years now, very reliable:

http://www.pittmandavis.com/

Tejas - based, they've citrus, nice gift baskets, etc. Free and quick shipping, top - quality stuff...

https://www.amanameatshop.com/

Amana is by Iowa City, where our poster Nancy2 lives. Nice food and gift items, postage - paid. The Amana Colonies have an interesting history:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amana_Colonies

If you've the bux, they offer lovely woolens, furniture, etc...

https://www.amanashops.com/

I like to give calendars. I am obsessed by the old DDR (East Germany), and I've discovered that Amazon.de offers a whole range of DDR "Ostalgie" (East German "nostalgia" stuff) including calendars. Germans make GREAT calendars, datebooks, etc, here are some things I've ordered. Prices are reasonable, remember that from the posted Amazon Germany price, you'll save in the US about 19% on German VAT (the order is delivered ex - Germany). Postage is around four -five Euros, and the last two orders I placed arrived from the Amazon facility in Leipzig (eastern Germany) to here in Chicawgo in ___36 hours___...DHL ships (through Cincinnati, as US Customs indicated), no customs paperwork or duties; the translations are via Google, I take no responsibility for translation veracity ;-) :

East German "Baking Calendar", this was around twelve bux delivered to the US:

Weekly calendar GDR cooking-baking 2018 (German) Calendar

https://www.amazon.de/Wochenkalender...nder+ddr++2018

"Beautiful shots week after week. The great calendar offers a practical weekly calendar and brilliant photos plenty of space for personal entries. With stable and practical ring eyelet..."

An East German recipe calendar:

Kitchen Calendar "Ostdeutsche Küche" 2018: With recipes!

https://www.amazon.de/K%C3%BCchenkal...GGBQHR7G7VVXJA

"When eating traditionally applies: good, what is filling and tasty tastes! Our wall calendar OSTDEUTSCHE KÜCHE in the format 24 x 33 is the decorative reminder of this ancient truth: Rustic cuisine and modern interpretation, traditional recipes from Rügen to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, which have more culinary delights to offer, as some down-to-earth name suggests. Seductive photos, which instantly make your mouth water, will always spread your appetite and good mood in your own home or office. The backs of the calendar, however, house the actual treasu delicious recipe ideas that invite you to cook and try again. Thanks to easy-to-read calendar, marked holidays, moon phases and ample space for notes, the calendar also helps to organize everyday life. So it's easy to get organized in plans or appointments, and nothing gets mixed up - an excellent companion through a year full of plans and ideas. Finally, on the back cover there is an overview of the school holidays of all federal states, so that the holiday dates of all friends and relatives are recognizable at a glance. The perfect gift to give family members, friends, colleagues or your whole year joy, inspiration and healthy appetite..."

And, lastly, here is a cheap East German cookbook, delivered to the US, it was less than ten bux, very high - quality product:

GDR Cookbook - The Original (Mini Cookbook) (German)

https://www.amazon.de/DDR-Kochbuch-D...ZBPNA61FZVWK5X

"You will accompany the author on a pleasurable and informative journey through the history of the culinary culture and the landscapes of the former German Democratic Republic with culinary highlights.

"Who does not know and appreciate the crispy broiler, the fresh Baltic fish, the spicy Harz cheese and the substantial Dresdner Christstollen? Many former GDR products are enjoying new popularity not only in eastern Germany. With a great deal of ingenuity and fresh produce from their own dachas, many supply bottlenecks were mastered..."

they keep admiring mine.

Not even sure I'll make cookies this year. nancy

At Christmas my wife and her co workers exchange small gifts - around $5
or so in value . She gave them each a half pint of our honey last year
.... It was a big hit and and we'll do the same this year . <aside - I
got a call yesterday from the folks at the China Wok that bought a case
(12 jars) of my honey last July - they want as much as I'll sell them
when we go to Memphis for Christmas with the kids/grands . >

we got our package from Amana on Friday. MIL has been gifting us from
Amana for years and it is really appreciated Except their cheese.
Like every other gifting company the selection of cheese is meant to

Mine too, money for the kids, grandkids, great grandkids etc. Hallmark
ornaments as well, that's pretty much it. I do make some cookies and things
like that, but this year, not too many. I am burned out with the Christmas
rush and have decided not to get so involved this year.

I gifted two local animal shelters with cash.
I bought my wife a new golf bag... she picked... already arrived, will
be sitting idle til spring. I don't have anyone else to gift. I know
my wife will be gifting me a couple pairs of nice pants and shirts,
she really doesn't like me wearing my everyday farmer's barn outfits
when we go out.

One of the things we treasure is Don's uncle sent us crystal tree
ornaments for 30 years. It was simple stuff (and we appreciated also
that it was in his affordable range). The simple 5.99 sort from
Hallmarks.

He's passed on now, but those will go to our daughter in time.

What we ship out is about 18$ cheese and meat (sausages) sets and and
everyone considers them a Christmas tradition to open and enjoy as a
family.

My parents raised a few capons for xmas and they would send one plucked
and dressed by British Rail to my father's brother who lived about 300
miles away as his family's xmas gift. They capons were huge and one year
the bird weighed 14lbs!!

I don't wear bib overalls but I pretty much live in very well worn Lee
jeans, Duluth Trader tees, and LL Bean Boots. My tees are clean but
have lots of little holes from cats hanging on me. Actually when I go
into town I'm the best dressed guy there, at least I'm not dressed in
camo... and I'm clean shaven... guys nowadays look like they shave
with a dull bladed mower... what's with that fuzz face look? I don't
trust any man sporting a beard because if I can't see their face I
can't tell that they're lying. I consider all bearded religious kooks
big time liars. To me facial hair is a mask.

Nothing "unkempt" there.

We've been collecting Hallmark's every year since they came out, we have a
fairly large collection and started buying them for our kids when they grew
up and moved out. They look forward to them every year. They have a lot
of sentimental value due to the reasons they were chosen each year. I like
those cheese meat gifts, always fun to receive.

I'm guessing he likes them because when he's working around his place
he doesn't have to pull jeans up or fool with a belt when he's busy.

Out here hardly anyone wears slacks. It's work jeans, regular jeans
and dress-up jeans.

Chinos for me. Shorts from April to October and year 'round in the
house. I've not worn jeans for at least 40 years.

About the same for me here. White painting clothes for work.
Jeans and decent shirts for home and store. I even have old and
new jeans....old for just around the house, then switch to newer
jeans to shop or go to the doctor, dentist, etc. Whatever.

I would like to buy a couple of pairs of ...(the popular tan
pants...aka cackie LOL! I don't know how to spell that and the
darn spell checker isn't helping either). Y'all know what I mean
though.

BTW, just how the hell DO you spell that anyway? All it takes is
one proper answer then I'll know. I could use a bit of education
here.
