Default Culinary Holiday Gifting

So I've been deciding who is "Naughty or Nice", and I like sending my favored peeps food - related stuff. Here are some of my "go - to" culinary gifting sites, I've used them for years now, very reliable:

http://www.pittmandavis.com/

Tejas - based, they've citrus, nice gift baskets, etc. Free and quick shipping, top - quality stuff...

https://www.amanameatshop.com/

Amana is by Iowa City, where our poster Nancy2 lives. Nice food and gift items, postage - paid. The Amana Colonies have an interesting history:

If you've the bux, they offer lovely woolens, furniture, etc...

I like to give calendars. I am obsessed by the old DDR (East Germany), and I've discovered that Amazon.de offers a whole range of DDR "Ostalgie" (East German "nostalgia" stuff) including calendars. Germans make GREAT calendars, datebooks, etc, here are some things I've ordered. Prices are reasonable, remember that from the posted Amazon Germany price, you'll save in the US about 19% on German VAT (the order is delivered ex - Germany). Postage is around four -five Euros, and the last two orders I placed arrived from the Amazon facility in Leipzig (eastern Germany) to here in Chicawgo in ___36 hours___...DHL ships (through Cincinnati, as US Customs indicated), no customs paperwork or duties; the translations are via Google, I take no responsibility for translation veracity ;-) :

East German "Baking Calendar", this was around twelve bux delivered to the US:

Weekly calendar GDR cooking-baking 2018 (German) Calendar

https://www.amazon.de/Wochenkalender...nder+ddr++2018

"Beautiful shots week after week. The great calendar offers a practical weekly calendar and brilliant photos plenty of space for personal entries. With stable and practical ring eyelet..."

An East German recipe calendar:

Kitchen Calendar "Ostdeutsche Küche" 2018: With recipes!

https://www.amazon.de/K%C3%BCchenkal...GGBQHR7G7VVXJA

"When eating traditionally applies: good, what is filling and tasty tastes! Our wall calendar OSTDEUTSCHE KÜCHE in the format 24 x 33 is the decorative reminder of this ancient truth: Rustic cuisine and modern interpretation, traditional recipes from Rügen to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, which have more culinary delights to offer, as some down-to-earth name suggests. Seductive photos, which instantly make your mouth water, will always spread your appetite and good mood in your own home or office. The backs of the calendar, however, house the actual treasu delicious recipe ideas that invite you to cook and try again. Thanks to easy-to-read calendar, marked holidays, moon phases and ample space for notes, the calendar also helps to organize everyday life. So it's easy to get organized in plans or appointments, and nothing gets mixed up - an excellent companion through a year full of plans and ideas. Finally, on the back cover there is an overview of the school holidays of all federal states, so that the holiday dates of all friends and relatives are recognizable at a glance. The perfect gift to give family members, friends, colleagues or your whole year joy, inspiration and healthy appetite..."

And, lastly, here is a cheap East German cookbook, delivered to the US, it was less than ten bux, very high - quality product:

GDR Cookbook - The Original (Mini Cookbook) (German)

https://www.amazon.de/DDR-Kochbuch-D...ZBPNA61FZVWK5X

"You will accompany the author on a pleasurable and informative journey through the history of the culinary culture and the landscapes of the former German Democratic Republic with culinary highlights.

"Who does not know and appreciate the crispy broiler, the fresh Baltic fish, the spicy Harz cheese and the substantial Dresdner Christstollen? Many former GDR products are enjoying new popularity not only in eastern Germany. With a great deal of ingenuity and fresh produce from their own dachas, many supply bottlenecks were mastered..."
