Looks nice. I really like the porch. I'd have my rocker out there and
spend summer evenings there.

Actually I like the light lavender over the bare white. I'd think of
doing the inner upper porch top in it as well (keeping it light). Not
all houses have to be plain vanilla.

Looks good, but the crooked house number on the pole would drive me crazy.

It looks nice, really nice. I like the style of the house, too,
and last September I had my remodeled bathroom painted lavender.
It looks nice if I do say so myself; great neutral color.

Yeah, I'd dump the pole house number as well as the numbers above
the front door. In the area above the porch, the large flat area
just above the steps, I'd go with some oversized numbers that can
be picked up at Home Depot, paint them black, and nail them there.

I once painted the kitchen walls lavender. It was a misconceived
notion to reflect the autumn colours of the view outside (sea and
mountains).
The sea was silver, the mountain ridges were hazy purple, the kitchen
spalashback and workstations are stainless steel. Inspiration; what
could be nicer than lavender walls...

Well, pretty much anything. They didn't stay lavender for long.

Hahahaaa, wellllllll I think lavender was not quite the right
choice for the kitchen. But at least you found out instead of
wondering if you should try it. Now you know!

The numbers over the door are chintzy, out of place/difficut to see,
and unnecessary. That ugli cheapo lampost sucks big time... with all
his million$ he can easily afford a lovely cast iron lampost to match
the period of that house.

I'd mount a numeral plaque on the brick upright/pillar nearest the
lampost.

I find his house's exterior quite architecturally balanced and
attractive, the neighborhood perhaps less so.

You call being honest "suck up", but the reason obviously is your utter
inability to be so sans snark.

The obvious at here is your selective personal attack mode and your
relentless pandering and to and fawning over your lone supporter here,
Ophelia.

You define for me everything that a real man chooses not to be.

With that roof it almost looks Cheap Chinese pagoda style. hehe
Those dark colored gutters look stupid, should be white to match the
trim... also too small for a heavy rain.

Yes, and perhaps a wrought iron sculpture of a muscular
Mestizo woman with giant, functioning knockers for visitors
to fondle and enunciate their arrival at the Kunthe Inn.

I don't know what you mean by "neutral." All I know is that if you paint your house purple/lavender, it's going to be famous in the area.

You're going to have to look really close, it's on the floor of
the porch. You won't see much but you can definitely see the
pale lavender color.

Yes, numbers on the right column would look good, too. Against the
dark brick I'd go for good size numbers and paint them white to stand
out.

Yep, if you are going lavender or purple, the best aproach
is an honest medium purple color with bright yellow trim.

It makes a nice contrast of colors, makes the structure
stand out (says ; Look at me!). Mexican restaurants have
used gaudy flamboyant colors for years.

Blacks in the south have often used similar wildly
contrasting colors on their abodes.

I think his color choices would show that he wants to
attract hot Asian females (with green cards) to join in the
community lifestyle at his rooming house.

In San Diego area is a spot called Coranado (spelling note, may be a
little off). I do not think any 2 houses there are the same color even
if some structurally are very much the same.

Paint is cheap and with minimal skills you can do this yourself for
about 40$ a can and a 4$ drop cloth and maybe 1$ of masking tape.
Prices may vary where you are bit this is a cheap bit of fun.

Like to see the back deck!

The porch, just behind the lavender safety tapes.

I'm rather liking it too! I was not liking the harsher pink frame on
the bathroom and think black on the outer would eye-po better (leave
inner frame as is) but i really liked the stained glass there.

Not all want to be plain vanilla.

I have a suggestion for the garden beds. Wandering Jew. It's purple
and lasts most of the year and comes up next year with no trouble.
Tiny flowers of pink. Can be mixed with other plants. Spreads well
naturally and grows to 18 or so inches so he can put in anything else
that catches his fancy around it.
