Default Well, that was a bad idea!

Leftover cold meatloaf, sliced tomatoes on toasted sourdough rye. Sounded
good but it's just a combination of too many flavors. No bueno. Next time I
shall use a burger bun or some other form of white bread.

Yeah, rye bread wouldn't suit that combo.

You will just have to start cooking real food for a change. Mashed potatoes with real butter or gravy...re-heated meat loaf instead of cold greasy meat loaf...hot vegetables in cream sauce of some description. Lots of ways to make warm-overs tasty. If you can't use butter then use margarine. Dry, cold uninteresting food...yuck.

My meatloaf is loaded with veggies and not greasy at all. I only like lean
meats. And I prefer my meatloaf cold and on a sandwich.

Mashed potatoes usually take milk or cream and I can't have dairy. I have
tried using broth and don't like the result. Most margarine also has dairy.
I do have some that doesn't but plain potatoes with it are not so good. They
are passable with gravy but I didn't want to bother with that for just
myself plus as I said, I prefer cold meatloaf. I had intended to make mashed
potatoes for my husband (I do make his the right way) and I would have made
gravy but... He came in at a weird time and insisted on a meal right then
and there. So... I don't play games like that. If he's going to be like
that, he can either go out and get himself something or... He'll get
something like what I gave him. Whatever leftovers and/or stuff from cans.

My meal actually was quite nice once I deconstructed it. I just ate either
the toast with the tomato or the meatloaf with the tomato. It was the rye
and the meatloaf that didn't go so well. I thought they would as I used to
eat patty melts and loved them.

My meatloaf isn't tube meat. It's organic, grass fed beef and it's
delicious.

There is no such language as "Jewish."

L'chaim is a toast, "to life," in Hebrew.

Schlemiel is Yiddish.

If you had copied the words and pasted them into Google, you would
have learned that

L'Chaim in Hebrew is a toast meaning "to life".

Schlemiel is an awkward and unlucky person for whom things never turn
out right.

Thank you for your lesson sf. but I did indeed copy the words into Google
and got nothing so you can get off your high horse and stop lecturing!

I heard it said once that a schlemiel is someone who goes around spilling soup and a schlimazel is the poor sap he spills it on!
