In the new world, you're not supposed to think about such things nor will these releases answer any more questions. Plenty like us drink fewer than 7 per week; so do most people I know. NHS medical advice on intake is dinned in to us pretty hard and so is Scottish drink-driving law (now has the tightest blood-alcohol limit in the UK) . It's pretty common now to go to some social event /party where many guests decline any alcohol; soft drinks only. Janet UK |

We have a bottle of wine a couple of nights and a drink another night or two. That's just us. On balance, I do know people that have 7 a day very often. |

When I went through cardiac rehab the diet information said to eat lots of fruit NOT COCONUT in caps. It seems that those you think it is good for you profit from coconut sales. |

I never liked the sour taste of the water but I guess it's harmless enough. Coconut oil is probably not that great for ones heart - it seems that a lot of Samoans are dropping dead at an early age from cardiovascular diseases. OTOH, I will not be the one telling a Samoan to drop that coconut. |

It was such a lovely, smooth sounding version of the song. I Googled it and was surprised to see the guy who sang it because it seemed ironic that the music at a workout like that would be sung by someone who was so enormously fat. Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole weighed in at about 750 lb. and died at the age of 38 of weight related problems. Hell of a singer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_DKWlrA24k |

Here's my favorite song of his. Oddly enough, it was written by a Vietnamese guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoRpWEE-E0Q I just put some taro leaves and pork in the slow cooker. I could have added a can of coconut milk in there and that would have been tasty but I resisted. ![]() |

When I'm enjoying chicken wings, I'm experiencing too much pleasure to think about your pathetic ass, just like when I'm having sex with a woman, I don't think about Kuthe. The ONE saturated fatty acid that coconut has that is not typically found in other foods is lauric acid, which greatly elevates "good cholesterol" (HDL). In another thread I mentioned that stupid Chew show, where I saw/heard someone say that they knew that the person cared about "inflammation," so they made the food with..."walnuts"... ****, walnuts are PRO inflammation, as they are high in Omega 6. People think that they ****ING KNOW SHIT, and they don't know shit. --Bryan |

Let's have a show of hands. Who here pays no attention to the fats they eat, except that they taste good and complement the dish they're used with? Me! Cindy Hamilton |

I even use <gasp> vegetable shortening on occasion. I don't go out of my way to buy specific types of oils simply because some article says it's better for us. Remember when eggs were bad? Oh wait, no, they're not. Flip flop. I use whatever oil/fat works well for the dish I'm preparing. It's all about taste as far as I'm concerned. We're all gonna die eventually. I'm 55 years old. I've got no cholesterol problems, I'm not diabetic, I don't have high blood pressure. It's likely predisposed by genetics, either that or I'm doing something right. ![]() As for Bryan, he's certainly not an expert on anything. Somehow he always manages to drag sex and John Kuthe into the picture. Good lord, boy, get over it! Jill |
