Our trip to California was great, but we had a really bad start. We had
no problems getting over the border to Buffalo or getting our first set
of boarding passes. The deal was to fly Buffalo to Newark and then
Newark to Orange County. Our plane was late arriving. There was an
announcement that we should come to the counter because we weren't going
to make our connection. They decided to send us on to Newark, then
Newark to Chicago and then to Orange County.

When our plane finally arrived it unloaded, loaded up and taxied out the
the runway and sat there for a long time before taking off. Then when we
got to Newark we sat on the tarmac for about 20 minutes while they
waited for a gate agent so we could disembark.

We ended up missing the Chicago flight. We had to wait 5 1/2 hours for
a direct flight to Orange Country. When that flight boarded and taxied
out we got stuck in a queue for take off and the pilot had to remind
air traffic control about the 10:30 curfew at Orange Country so they let
us go ahead. Instead of arriving at 4 pm we landed just before 10:30
pm. We were supposed to have gone out for supper with my brother and his
wife and some of their friends that night but we ended up not getting to
the hotel until almost midnight.
