No it won't happen with this one. She was raised with 40 other dogs and 2
cats in a regular house. I told the story? The owner died and the RSPCA
broke in. The dogs were starving and going crazy. She can't abide 'any'
dog. She panics like crazy and will go for them if they try to come too
near. She is too small to do any damage but she warns them off. As for
strangers ... I think we will get there once she gets to know someone, but
not real strangers. She was ok with a couple of girls at the rescue centre,
but not any one here so far.

Mine either. She was mauled horribly by larger dogs, almost tore her muzzle
off, and she doesn't want any of them close to her, warning them off as you
say, but it's easy for us to keep her away from other dogs so no reason to
put her or us through it. She handles people well after she gets used to
them a bit, but she really is most comfortable with just us.

Poor wee soul It seems we have dogs with similar problems. They told me
at the rescue centre they had put her in a block with another dog from 'the
house' and it immediately began to bully her, so I guess that was how it was
for her. I saw something today I hadn't seen before. D. walked in with a
big ruler to measure something for me. She jumped up and desperately
scrabbled trying to hide behind me( She was terrified! No guesses on how
that woman had kept control(( Like yours, she is very comfortable with
us and that is all I ask.

You two both have big hearts.
The ruler story is particularly striking. Sometimes a dog will be shy with,
say, men, because they didn't meet any men in puppyhood, not that some man
abused them. But to flinch at the sight of a ruler likely means they
expect something negative to happen next.
