Slow Cooker Lasagna

First time I have made one in the Slow Cooker and it came out really well,
so I am pleased.

D loved it too and said the flavour was great:)

This pic shows a quarter. The rest is now in the freezer:)

That looks great but I'm looking at the picture through hungry eyes.
Today I'm gonna have some corn chips with some canned chili dumped on it
and heated in the microwave. I'm not happy about it but I trying to eat
cheap.

OTOH, slow cooker lasagna sound like something a crazy American would
combobulate together. Welcome to the club!

It worked a bit different to my usual lasagne which is why it looked a bit
flat. The cheeses were cottage cheese, parmesan and mozzarella. They all
melted into the pasta and sauce. That is why it looks like no cheese
layer.

LOL I experiment constantly. Anyway, whatever it looks like, it was a big
hit with his lordship and that is good enough for me:))

Good, it's a rubbish picture :)))

Try this but remember the pasta doesn't look soft because I just hauled it
out of the freezer:)

http://tinypic.com/r/25zt4xw/8

In the first pic it looks flatter because I had heated it up and the cheese
had melted in ever more.

It looks dry, needs more tomato sauce.

LOL thanks, but don't you think they look as bit odd showing just meat
layers?

Whenever I've made lasagne before, I have made a cheese sauce which has
remained apparent in the finished dish.

This recipes was with 3 cheeses which melted through the dish. D says it
is one of the best!!

I just think they look odd:)) I was wondering if anyone else had done it
this way?

Yes it does, but I can promise it is not. My number one tester (hubby)
confirms this:)

This is the first time I've cooked one in the slow cooker and I am working
with it. It doesn't dry out at all in there.

I made lasagna stuffed bell peppers last night. The filling was
ricotta, spinach and various cheeses mixed with an egg. A meaty red
sauce went on top of that and everything was topped off with more
grated cheeses. I gave hubby pasta (his choice) and I had slices of a
nice crusty bread that was piping hot from the oven. I will make that
again.

No. I wouldn't dream of cooking any type of lasagna in a slow cooker.

Thanks, Cheri:) Don't you think it looked odd though without the cheese

I will send you the recipe if you wish. It's a bit different to my usual
recipes. Might not be to yours though <g>

That looks so very tasty Ophelia! How would you compare the flavor of
Crockpot Lasagna with Sheperd's Pie. Is it just as satisfying and
filling?

Not really, I know things from the slow cooker that taste wonderful don't
always look like things cooked other ways.

What you did to poor Omelet, literally stalking her right off usenet

For the record, I never once even considered sleeping with you. And
you know that. You're the one who somehow got the idea that I was
going to move in with you - and you posted that to RFC just out of the
total blue.

After having met you twice at casual austin.food gatherings 2 or 3
years ago and not giving you any indication that there was any sort of
romantic interest in the least, you somehow twisted that into MY
MOVING IN WITH YOU?

That was just way too Psycho for me. I sat there at stared at the
screen for at least 15 minutes wondering, WTF? That was just way too
spooky. I've met weird, semi-psycho women before but you win, hands
down. Mapi of austin.general still holds the male title, but at least
he announced his psychosis right there lying on the floor of the bar
at B.D. Reilly's rather than romantically obsessing over me for 2
years.

Needless to say, you need to come to terms with what happened and why
your mind works that way and stop making up excuses for your fixation
and disappointment before we become the next Yoli and Michael. I'd
prefer you use a sniper rifle on me from a few hundred yards away.
There you go - a reason for you to buy yet another gun and ammo.

And Jeremy, I was just tired of your decade of bullshit and visions of
grandeur about all these things you're "working on" or have not done
in the past. Even posting a call for meetings with imaginary people
about imaginary projects of yours at "the normal time and place", as
if you are somebody important with a life. I'm pretty sure you're
manic depressive mixed with habitual liar.

Sorry I don't fit either of your Ideal Psycho Pal Profiles.

I know <g> I don't cook like that every day though LOL

He had that lasagna yesterday, bratties and chips today and I will make that
mushroom risotto for him tomorrow:) Having said that though, he always has
home made bread and 'swirlies' on hand <g> although he usually has those for
his breakfast.

Incidentally, he has asked that the next time I make that lasagna, I cut it
into 6 instead of 4 pieces! :) Very filling apparently:)
