Did ya know that good ol Charlie auditioned for a spot in the band,
The Monkeys? He was also a good friend of Neil Young.

Check this out...it's a real product.
I've been tempted to send one to my super-religious church lady
sister but I don't know if she would like it or be offended. heheh

LOL!

A couple of years ago, I stopped to see the guy I work for (we weren't
working that day). This was 6:30am. I knocked on the door and I heard,
"Come on in." He was in the kitchen making coffee so I sat down on
the living room couch. Right on the coffee table was a .45 cal
handgun. I picked it up to check it out and he said, "Be careful with
that...it's got a full clip and one in the chamber."

You have to wonder here. Who would bring a loaded handgun downstairs
with them first thing in the morning? Is it me or is that just very
strange?

Sounds strange to me. Maybe he had been cleaning it and just reloaded
it. <shrug>

Hopefully, you asked for permission before you reached for his gun. I would have made believe that gun wasn't there and not made any mention of it - like it was the most natural thing in the world. Hee hee.

It's strange alright. Perhaps he was thinking of putting one in his brainpan after having some hot java. You probably messed up his plans. :-)

Well, most likely the guy had recently done something pretty bad to
another person and he was expecting them to come for him. My father in
law used to be a Cop. He put more than one person in prison for many
years. He still sleeps with a brace against the door and a .357 Magnum
under his pillow. If they come, he plans to lay down suppression fire
right between their eyes.

It's alien to me, too. Hopefully no children, nor a big dog. Many
years ago I read an article in a Memphis (Tennessee) newspaper about a
guy whose dog shot him. The man had a loaded gun sitting on his coffee
table. He had a big dog and the dog was wagging its tail, hit the
trigger and bam! The dog accidentally shot the guy in the ass.

'Accident' my ass.
The owner probably bought some cheap quality dog food.

You were stupid enough to do that? In your boss's house? Hard to
believe, on both counts. Were you still employed after he retrieved the
weapon?

Someone who's intelligent enough to take it upstairs with him every
night? A LEO?

> Is it me or is that just very strange?

It's you. Although leaving the weapon unattended on his coffee table,
especially when he's expecting someone, is awfully dumb on his part, too.

We grew up with FBI agents all around our neighborhood. The preferred
downstairs location was atop the refrigerator, or in the piano bench.
We all knew it, yet we had better sense than to pick up someone else's
weapon.

I would regard it as poor form to pick up another person's firearm
without permission anyway. I wouldn't dream of doing that under the
circumstances as described.
