Check out this new meal planning app I am developing. It takes recipes from your favorite apps and automatically turns them into meal plans with grocery lists. Feel free to post any comments, feedback is welcome!

Feel free to post any comments, feedback is welcome! <snip> I have no recipe apps nor do I want any. I have a pen and a meal plan pad of paper. I just look through what I have and what is on sale and make a meal plan from there. I make my own grocery lists too. One for each store. |

When I lived alone or when it was just two of us here, I didn't plan. But now that there are three of us and we don't all eat at the same times or the same things, I do need to plan so that I will have leftovers for my husband to eat. Since he rarely eats when we do. I already know that I am doing two tuna casseroles for tomorrow. One without dairy. I did not order any meat in my CSA package but I am getting red bell peppers which I will cook with an onion and some stir fry beef pieces that I got last week but didn't use. That will be enough for at least two meals. I have leftover chili that I will eat. I also have turkey breast to make with wild rice. And if there are any days left in the week, I will make pasta. And probably some vegetable soup. |

That's why Rachael Ray turned the concept into a FN show and major cooking magazines post weekly meal plans. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

That's what people who enjoy cooking do. My Mr. Mom son-in-law is not a natural cook by any means. I'm only now developing a feel for using leftovers in a different enough way that I don't feel like I'm eating leftovers... which reminds me of another one who made a season out of the meal planning concept: Sandra Lee and her Round 2 meals. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I thought the topic was right on point for a decent food related discussion on rfc, unlike all those fercockatah cat and kitten threads (may they rot in cat hell). I don't use cooking apps and yet people still do. Pepperplate.com is popular and helps busy people stay organized... especially when there are two people who do the shopping and cooking. Apparently you don't know how those apps work, because they can be very convenient. I use Out of Milk to manage my 12 separate shopping lists. I like it because I can add to it from any device that's connected to the internet instead of searching for my phone to make a list on an internal note app or search around for a pen and paper. I used adding machine "tape" previously and was down to my last roll (wondering where I'd find more) when O told me about OoM. Unlike you, I like being part of the modern age and using all the modern conveniences. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

Some people don't use dictionaries, so does that mean no dictionary should exist? -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I just can't see a big market for it. Why not? What you and your mother do doesn't dictate the market. What would your reaction be if Jill said she doesn't use a cell phone, therefore she can't see a big market for them? -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I never said that it did. But of all the people I know, I am the only one who ever plans meals out in advance. And I don't always do that. I kind of have to do it now due to our wacky schedules. Always have to cook ahead of time so that there is something ready to eat. I just can't see a need for *this* app. Maybe I'm wrong though. |
