This recipe does call for butter as desired on the top but none in the
bread. And it can be baked in a casserole. So... Yay! I am already envisioning the variations. But it does call for bread flour and I don't have that. I know that King Arthur sells it online but can you get it in a grocery store? Thanks! http://www.redstaryeast.com/our-best...e-batter-bread |

I'm still waiting for them to stock White Lily, but I guess we don't have enough Southerners around here for that to happen. ![]() -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I had just never seen bread flour but then I have never looked for it and don't go down the baking aisle often. |

You're pretty sure that they don't carry it but you don't know because you never looked for it and you never go down the baking aisle. I guess that means that our collective attitude about you being pretty much a moron is reinforced.. again. |

It's there with the national and store brands bleached and unbleached flour. http://oi62.tinypic.com/2vtb4t3.jpg -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

For krists sake just use ANY all-purpose flour and get with it...it doesn't have to be one special brand. |

Come to think of it, so did I. Batter breads in particular don't require King Arthur or any sort of extra soft flour. Just sayin'. ![]() Jill |

Wasn't able to use it up in time. There were only perhaps 2 cups left. I made blonde brownies with it but they weren't liked. ![]() |

That's generally a waste of time. |

As usual, he lied. Seems he's not very busy since he got his award for "volunteerism". They were probably happy to slam that door shut and nailed it closed as soon as he left the building. Oh, I did see a Coinstar the other day. It's next to the gambling machines on an L part of a wall that protrudes and you don't see what's on it unless you turn your head and look specifically at that area as you pass by. I conceded a long time ago that a coinstar could be there, but I don't gamble and I don't look at that area. He has some serious mental issues. Glad I don't have to deal with that BS in person.
