Exactly the same point I made to someone else in the past.

heheh You *do* attract attention here. You do seem to have way more
than your fair share of "issues" but it's no joking matter. If it's
real to you, it's real regardless of what anyone else thinks. Try no
to get mad at people offering advice though. I think that's just a
natural protective instinct. As my daughter got older and told me
about some of her problems, I made the mistake of offering advice.
I've learned that sometimes someone just needs to vent their problems
and don't want advice...they just want a friendly ear (or two) to
listen. Remember that yourself someday when your daughter is an
adult.

I meant to thank you too for reposting the White Castle casserole
recipe the other day. Sounds like something I'll try with maybe a
couple of changes. (The optional pickle addition sounds weird to me).
I still wonder why it's named that. Seems to have nothing to do with
White Castle hamburgers.

One day about 30 years ago, we were working in Norfolk (the next city
to me) and we went to a WC place for some of their famous hamburgers.
I was the only one that had never heard of them. They had a deal for
so much money for 5 of the burgers. Well....I certainly didn't want 5
hamburgers for lunch so I only bought 2 of them. I was shocked when I
saw how small they were. "WTH? Really?" heheh

I just don't get the giving advice thing. That is just never my first
instinct, although sometimes people will ask me for advice. That's
different.

I don't know why that recipe is called White Castle either but it's all over
the Internet.

My mom tells me that I did have White Castles once or twice as a child. I
don't remember them. I did not like burgers as a child and apparently in
particular, not those. So I don't remember if they came with pickles or
not. And now I don't really like the frozen ones since somebody here said
they tasted like liver. I hadn't thought that prior but now I do. :(

Well, you get good grades for pessimism. I remember when I thought

Anyone drinking 12+ diet sodas is taking some risk, not just you. Too
much artificial stuff for me.

Remember when doctors used to do commercials for cigarettes? They help
you relax. Doctors even smoked in the hospital.

Sometimes the body can tolerate small amounts of a chemical, but you are
ingesting 6X to 12X what most people would in a day, thus increasing
risk. Your body, do as you please

From WebMD:
It's suspected that sodium benzoate, in addition to artificial food
color, may increase hyperactivity in some children. Sodium benzoate in
soft drinks may also react with added vitamin C to make benzene, a
cancer-causing substance.

As I said, I think it's just a protective instinct. Someone has a
problem and you have a solution to it so you tell them what you would
do...what you have learned from experience. I do that sometimes but I
never expect them to do what I said. It's just something that they
might not have thought of. You're only trying to help. We can always
learn some things from others who have been in the same situation. No
need to "reinvent wheel." "Take it with a grain of salt" yeah yeah
:)

Since that one time I went to the (fast food) restaurant, I did buy a
box of the frozen ones many years later and many years ago. I wasn't
impressed. I'd rather buy a few fresh McD burgers. I'll always love
those. Growing up, I always divided my allowance money each week for
15 cent hamburgers and 12 cent comic books (and the occasional 5 cent
candy bars) :-D

But that is how it works.

If you flatten a can, it goes in with scrap metals. Cans and bottles
that you pay a deposit on have to go back to a redemption center or the
store that sold it You put them into a machine. The machine reads the
bar code and counts it. When done, it prints out a receipt that you can
take to the counter for your cash. It the can was flattened, it would
not have the bar code read

The machines will flatten the can, shred the plastic and crush the glass
and it is picked up the the recycle truck. There are different
machines for each type. If the store does not carry the brand you
brought back, it will reject it.

No, Gary, it isn't. Don't be so dumb.

If Julie posts some obvious lie or fantasy here that doesn't make it

her refusal doesn't make her right.

lol. My old doctor was a smoker. He even took a few puffs in between
going into his 3 examination rooms where patients were waiting to get
seen.

I took my daughter there once and was in the room with her. As he
examined her he asked me, "So how have you been doing, Dad?"

I responded, "Well, I quit smoking 11 days ago." I expected some
praise from him.

He responded, "Why in the hell did you do that?" hahahah I was
stunned. That was not the response I expected from my doctor.

He went on to tell me that if you can control cigarette smoking to 2
or 3 a day, your lungs will be just as healthy as a non smoker. He
added that no other doctor will ever tell me that.

Not what I meant, Janet. What I'm saying is that the mind is a

About the same as Coke.
http://www.livestrong.com/article/29...trition-facts/
http://productnutrition.thecoca-colacompany.com/
Drinking 12-16 cans a day is definitely over dosing on sodium... for
every ounce of soda you should drink two ounces of plain water to help
flush your body. I enjoy some soda but I use more than double its
volume in ice to counteract the sodium, but with as much sodium you
ingest from soda it's not possible to consume enough water. Most of
what you refer to as your disabilities are likely a result of your
excessive sodium intake from excessive soda.

I don't believe that the club soda producers are giving up an entire
regional market when they deliver all their other products to those
areas. When I lived on the west coast several brands of club soda was
sold in every market, and in several sizes... every gin mill stocks
club soda, it's just carbonated mineral water, about the most popular
mixer, so I don't believe you. A couple of my old navy buddies live
in Washington state, next we're chatting on the phone I will ask them.
One lives in Bellingham, the other in Port Orchard.

live... of course you wouldn't look, club soda has no calories to feed

She doesn't need to buy a can crusher, her's is built in, all Julie
needs to do is squat, place a can in her ass crack and stand up. Now
she's going to tell us that's a great idea if only she didn't have a
squatting disability! LOL

I never heard of anyone who keeps their garbage bins inside their
house, let alone in their kitchen... even the lowest trailer trash at
least tosses their garbage out their kitchen window.
Ya know, you can always lay down a line of those empty cans on your
lawn and drive over them.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/44...drinking-soda/

Diet soda has been associated with kidney problems, according to an
August 2010 study published in the “Clinical Journal of the American
Society of Nephrology.” Study authors concluded that women who drank
more than two servings a day of artificially sweetened soda per day saw
a decrease in kidney function over 20 years that was three times the
rate of decline found in women who did not drink diet soda. No
association was found between the consumption of sugar sweetened sodas
and kidney function decline.
Other Health Risks
Other health risks associated with regular consumption of soda include
dental problems and increased osteoporosis risk. Soda contains acidic
ingredients that can erode tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay.
Frequent soda drinkers often consume fewer nutrient-rich beverages in
the daily diet, such as milk and juice, replacing them with soft drinks,
decreasing calcium intake and increasing the risk of developing
osteoporosis.

In fact, a University of Minnesota study of almost 10,000 adults found
that even just one diet soda a day was linked to a 34% higher risk of
metabolic syndrome, a group of symptoms including belly fat and high
cholesterol that put you at risk for heart disease.

But people are still sipping the stuff, and in record numbers. Kids
consume diet soda at more than double the rate of the last decade,
according to research in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Among adults, consumption has grown almost 25%.

That is just plain crazy! So glad recycling doesn't work that way
here.

We don't have empties everywhere... I've been through states that
don't have deposit, disgustingly filthy everywhere. The system works
well here, every supermarket has a space alloted for the machines that
accept deposit empties, the machines now are high speed and collect
both aluminum cans and plastic bottles in the same machine. The
machine keeps count and when done you press a button to receive the
receipt. I don't accumulate a lot of deposit containers so I go to
redeem them only 2-3 times a year. Many people csan't be bothered so
they donate their empties to various charities of sorts, like the
homeless shelters. Even with deposits some still toss the empties
along roadways, mostly teens, but every day there are people who scour
the road shoulders for empties... they get a permit under the "Keep
This Roadway Clean" program, they pick up other trash too but they get
to keep all the deposit empties they find, I'm told it's a lucrative
business, one can make a pretty good living as they only collect their
assigned roadways during good weather but the empties really
accumulate over winter so in spring they collect a bonanaza after the
snow melts... a lot of retired folks do this. It's a good way to do
easy work outdoors... too bad Julie is allergic to the outdoors, and
to work.
