I do know many people who recognize the extreme difficulty of finding an effective and universal solution for it. There's NoMoRobo, which has been endorsed by the FTC, but not every phone carrier enables it. You can enter your phone number on their website and they'll tell you if it will work for you - and if not, they'll give you contact info for your phone company, so you can ask them to enable it. https://www.nomorobo.com/ But crooks will be crooks, and stealing via telephone swindle schemes is cheap, simple, and effective, thanks to autodialers and offshoring. Also thanks to the fact that the majority of people who get these calls persist in thinking these people are legitimate businesses offering legitimate services, when they are not. The DNC is designed to stop legit firms from calling people who don't want to be bothered. Crooks pay no attention to laws. |
