Default Way OT but help is needed.

Yes this is a cooking group, but we are also 'friends' and human beings. I would like to ask your help for a family in dire straits.

I know this family very well. They are good people with great kids and they have had a perfect shit storm of bad luck all at once. They need some help to be able to get through it. I normally would not bother this group with something like this, but if you have a couple of bucks to spare, please help them. Even $5 would be a blessing.

Thank you so much for anything you can do.

Yeah, we're all in a shitstorm of bad luck! Send ME a few bucks while
you're at it! In fact, why don't we all put all our money in one big
pot and share it as needed. We can call it socialism! It'lll be the
next big thing!!

Now I've to to continue to figure out how to scrape by with what I
have and work towards geting everything better for myself right now.
Maybe when I'm finacially successful enpugh and sustainably so I'll
drop a few bucks on causes like this! I'd need a LOT more backstory
about it though first! Just sayin'!

How long do I need before I think of a suitable sob-story? A reasonable
estimate should suffice.

John I'm sorry for any problems you may be having. I know these people and I've reached out to help them. It would seem to me that those of us here have known each other long enough that we know who would put something false up as a solicitation and who would not.

If you can't help, that's fine, we understand. But don't dismiss the troubles others are going through. If they could do it on their own, believe me they would. They are that kind of family. It was hard for them to reach out...as I'm sure it would be for you.

I believe you! And wish I could help. But seriously, I think we all
need to know more why WE should help. I know I would, if I could help.

Well, if a member of this group, that I considered an upstanding person, posted that they knew a family in dire straits and could vouch for them and asked for a donation through a secure, real charitable site, I would give something.

I guess it's community involvement. To me community is the whole world and I am connected to many people around the world. I think we are all in the same boat on the same planet and we should look out for each other if we can.

I actually would too. But I'm in pretty dire straits myself right now.
I wish I had a sufficient and reliable income, that would make ALL the
difference. But I don't so I can't.
