My point was that in the world of advertising and image, Paula has drawn too much of the wrong kind of attention and no longer represents the image the FN wants to present. Everyone must have noticed how squeaky clean everyone of their people are. They are pretty clear about what they want. She's carrying too much baggage now. It isn't just using the N word. There's the plantation, nostalgic old South wedding she wanted, the lawsuit, the furor over hiding her diabetes, the late show parodies about her and her food habits. Other than the one or two mandatory meetings each year you only need to have a meeting if there is something to discuss. There are lots of people in management who live for meetings, though nothing ever seems to get done. |
