We usta hang out at one all the time. As common as Denny's. Jes a
pancake/coffee chain open all night that tolerated hanger-outers and
stoners. Never gave the racial implications a thought. Even after
the chain imploded from upper mgt malfeasance. At least that was the
news story.

I guess I get a bit riled when ppl talk about Sambo's racial
overtones, like there actually were any. Nope. Not like Denny's,
that actively discriminated against blacks and other minorities.
Sambo's was about as benign as could be. Black, white, green, purple,
ya' ordered a shortstack or you nursed a never-empty cuppa joe fer 3
hrs. No one cared. (shrug)
