Default Favourite foods you had as a child

My family were great bakers and made wonderful bread, cakes, scones and
pastries every week.

A couple of my favourites which I still sometimes make today:

Curd Tarts

4oz Short Crust pastry

8 oz curd cheese (or cottage cheese)
2oz sugar
2oz currants or raisins
1 egg
1 1/2 oz butter
pinch nutmeg

Line 7inch flan tin (or patty tins) with pastry

Melt butter, mix in all other ingredients, fill case/s
Bake in hot oven 425f for 15-20 minutes

Rich Scones

8 oz SR flour
1/2 tspn salt
1 1/2 oz butter
1 oz sugar
2 tblspns currants or sultanas
1 egg and milk to make 1/4 liquid (keep back a spoonful for tops)

Makes 10 scones

Mix flour and salt in basin and rub in butter
Mix in sugar and fruit
Beat egg and milk together, add to flour to make a soft dough.
Turn onto floured board and roll out gently 1/2 inch thickness with 2 1/2
inch cutter.
Place on greased baking sheet, brush over tops with beaten egg or milk

Bake in hot oven 425f for 10 minutes

What were your favourites? Not necessarily sweet thing btw!
