I finally succumbed to the dark side. I texted my daughter. 'Course,
I hadda call my carrier to get instructions on HOWTO actually generate
a txt msg, me being dumber'n a post and cellphone illiterate. I kinda
get it, now, how kids can txt w/o looking. I thought ya hadda push
shift buttons or something, but no, jes hit that number n number of
times.

I'm already looking at an upgrade to my $15 tracfone. I can see me
eventually sinking down in a death spiral of txtg, pictures, etc. Woe
is me. But, it'll be one of those slider models with a full keyboard.
I'm too old to be tippy-tappin 250 times fer 8 letters till my thumbs
bleed. This, only to reach my daughter and two GDs, who are all
cellphone txtg wizards and seemingly total strangers to the spoken
word. Also, they'll be my only contacts on this heretofore ingnored
Hellspawn device. Everyone else can pound sand or speak actual words
into the mouthpiece, as Mr Bell intended.
