No, thankfully no viewing planned at my house of the game. For the
football 'widows' it would be a great day to hit the malls!

Am going to a friend house for his 25th SB party. Has become quite an
institution. I see some people I only see once a year at this party.

Yeah, going over to my buddy Scott's house for a little drinkin', food
and football.

I love the first two, the third not so much.

Been invited to one, not going (our team isn't participating). We're
visiting other friends and football won't be mentioned.

I might cook some pork in the crockpot, and make some of those Midwest pork
loin sandwiches. I've never had one before. I don't have to fry it, do I?

I haven't been to the Midwest for a while, not since I was accused of
stealing a Chicago dog at Notre Dame stadium.

SuperBowl party? Bah Humbug! I've gone to a few in the past, found them
highly annoying, then went home at half-time to finish watching the game
alone. It always seems that many (but not all) people at this event don't
give a crap about football. Many have never watched it all season. It's
just a traditional excuse to party. I don't want to hear people hooting and
hollering at every play. And the more they drink, the louder it gets. sigh!

This year, *my* team is back. The Patriots. They blew it 4 years ago with
the NYG but I'm hoping they will win this time. NY is a good team though.
It ought to be a good, close game and not a runaway game.

Since it's aways an evening game (for my time zone anyway - Eastern), I just
plan to make a good dinner, nothing special and watch a good football game.
I hope my team wins but what does it really matter anyway?

No special snacks for me. I always have some kind of snack for evening tv.

For those who really enjoy the football game, here's an interesting article
that I read yesterday:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...81104820120202

Gary

PS - hope y'all have fun that night regardless of what you do.

Thanxs Andrew :-)

As it doesn't involve the Seahawks, I will back the Patriots, as I
really can't stand the Newwww Joisey accent.

Put your money on the Patriots!!

Please show us around your room, Andy. Is that movie DVD's on your
bookshelf? Also I'm surprised that you have a small old tv vs a large
flatscreen with this set up.

One more thing: It that some cool and unique wooden handrail by your
stairway?

In my world, soccer is soccer, and it's as boring as bat shit.

Football to me is gridiron and rugby league.

Gridiron for the pussies, and league for the warriors :-)

Polly,

My team (Philadelphia Eagles) isn't in the Superbowl so why sponsor the
enemy NJ Giants? (I know they're called NY Giants but after 30 years or
so playing in NJ, that's nothing more than a long standing joke!).

There'll be a few soft pretzels w/yellow mustard and Bud Lights to

That's the whole point! Separate the people who want to have fun from
the people who would rather watch some boring old sports show. You
should have stayed home to begin with. Now you know.

It ain't necessarily so that the team is funny-talking New York fellows;
their quarterback is a Mississippi guy. Not that we've noticed, of course.

Not surprising that YOU would feel that way; rugby is hugely popular
among gays. A *** friend told me that "rugby rough trade" is so
ubiquitous it's become a stereotype.

We are staying home and I am rooting for my Giants (condolences, Andy)

I'm making chicken wings (I broil them with garlic, soy sauce and 5
spice powder), fresh guacamole, a clam dip made with 0% Fage Greek
yogurt, baby carrots, celery sticks, green pepper strips, raw turnip
sticks and cauliflower for dipping, salami and cheese on a plate and
peanuts to nosh.

There is some sliced brisket I smoked myself in the freezer and I'll
make tacos on low-carb soft tortillas with it. I'll make some pico de
gallo to go with the tacos.

Have to keep the snacks low-carb for my diabetic DH.

Hi Janet,
We didn't make it to way-the-heck South Texas (more's the pity (:
BUT, when we were on a dock in Fort Pierce, in the city marina, there
were about 6 boats with NJ couples on board on our dock. Boy you could
hear the accents! We were allowed to be honorary NJ'ians, as our boat
was owned by a NJ contractor from whom we bought it. One Sunday there
was a Giants game on the telly and the place was jumping!

As a die hard Washington Redskin fan, I still want the Giants to beat
the the Patriots (even though I am originally from Mass.)

We beat the Giants twice during the season, which was quite a feat
seeing that we ended up in the bottom.

As for food, I will have my special Super Bowl Chili!!

We love football and will certainly watch the game - not just the
commercials.

We went in for an overnight and stayed a week - loved the place!
We might have passed your home - we went down the ICW from there to
Lake Worth. After that, we went outside from Lake Worth to
Fort Lauderdale.
