Default A maple cream-filling fiasco

I bought a candy filled with maple cream filling.

It didn't like the candy, but I like maple.

Maybe it's just a bad candy? Or is maple cream filling generally bad?

Most maple candies are horrible because they are usually made with fake
maple. There is a maple farm a few miles from my house that sells great
maple chocolates and other maple products, all using their own syrup.
There is a chocolatier on the next street who makes dark and milk
chocolate maple creams. They are delicious.... but they are made using
real maple.

I hear that! I tried making a maple fondant out of maple syrup once
for my Christmas Candy. It turned out really weird, not at all like a
fondant I made from sucrose. It was firm at first, but after dipping,
the dipped pieces kinda flattened out into these weird little
chocolate covered maple cream candies.

Man, were they delicious! Nothing but real maple syrup inside!
Mmmmmmmm!

Real maple syrup is the thing. Artificial maple pales in comparison.

I don't like most things made with maple flavoring.

A mix of Grade B maple syrup and sucrose might work better than pure
Grade A.

So you haven't tried chili chocolate then.

If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn’t
help the poor, either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus
was just as selfish as we are, or we’ve got to acknowledge
that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy
without condition, and then admit that we just don’t
want to do it.

My response to this never showed up here... but ...... I have tried
chocolate with cayenne and it was surprisingly good.

A bit of cayenne is good in the cinnamon/nutmeg/sugar coating
for roasting pecans, too.

I was having all sorts of problems, like undeliverable mail notices
after posting to this group. I never had that happen before. Several
posts I sent never made it to the group. The other day new messages were
more than 24 hours behind. I connected my host to see what the problem
was. They wrote back to say that they looked into it and could not find
any problems, but all of a sudden I was getting lots of messages again.

The whole system is a little rickety. The stories of its redundancy is
greatly exaggerated. :-)

I'm thinking about dipping some cupcakes in fondant.

It might help you to know that folks have been known to make maple
syrup out of maple sugar. (I am just thinking that perhaps you
could control the liquid content, anyway, and that might be useful.)
