Default Loving the New Cuisinart.

Christened the new FP this morning. Love it but I can't figure out how
to take apart the pusher thingie. It looks like it doesn't come apart,
just slides up and down. I'd like to be able to wash it better.

Maybe I'll have to read the directions. ;-(

Turkey is in the roaster. Stuffing ready for the oven. Brussels sprouts
waiting to get roasted. Cole slaw is made (thank you Cuisinart).

Toasted up a few slices of low-carb, high fiber bread, let it dry then
cubed it and mixed it with celery, onion, mushrooms, parsley, sage,
white pepper sauteed in butter and some turkey broth. That's waiting to
go in the oven, too. Not doing it in the bird this year as it's too
small a batch to bother.

St. Michelle Reisling is chilling in the fridge.

Cranberry sauce was done days ago and yesterday I baked the great
experiment lower-carb pecan pie. It uses Ideal no calorie sweetener,
Splend brown, which has some sugar for substance, eggs, butter, vanilla,
pecans and a crust made of almond meal and butter.

I promise to report on the pie.

Still have to peel and cook the sweet potatoes and make the gravy. I
used the pressure cooker to cook up turkey broth with a package of
turkey necks and the giblets from the turkey. After refrigerating it
all night, I reduced it by about half to make it stronger. I think it
makes a better gravy.

Gonna set the table and grab a shower while the little cat is sleeping.

Have a wonderful day and a great meal, whatever you choose to show how
thankful you are for the bounty we enjoy. No matter what we are eating
today, it's not a bad idea to remember that there are people in parts of
our world who have nothing to eat.
