On second thought...make it a double. I'd thought of looking for a GOP bumper sticker saying, "If you can't afford Health Insurance, don't get sick" but I haven't found one yet. -- James Silverton, Potomac I'm *not* |

The Republican healthcare plan, like all their other policies, is basically a gigantic, sneering "**** You" to everybody who doesn't have a million dollars in the bank and a very polite "How would you like to have your taxes eliminated?" to everybody who does. |

And Obama care is godo for everybody? Not me. I will lose my current health insurance which is pretty darned good. My premiums are $28 a month, and I get more than that back in my health account each year. So, basically, it is fully covered by my employer. With Obama care, it only works if people pay into the system since it has to pay for all the people who can't afford the system. So, it would not work if only the current people in need buy in. They need people who already have health insurance to pay into the system too, so they have to make sure that some of us lose our current plan, thus forcing us to join the new Obama plan. Last I heard, the basic plan will cost $1000 a year. That's $1000 more than I currently pay, and a $1000 I do not currently have available. And it sounds like it may not be as good of a plan as I currently have. So, with Obama care, I get to pay more, get less, and my personal economy will get worse. Not something I am looking forward to. I understand the need to make health insurance affordable to those who don't have something right now. But I would prefer they do it without messing up the plan I have now. |

The folks who pass us will slow down so they can read it again and give us a thumbs-up. One time we did have an impotent OFFICIAL highway patrolman stop us and say that the cover might be offensive and cause us some trouble. Never happened. He didn't have the authority to demand that we remove it. Polly |
