Question comes from another group and possible answers will be posted
there (WebTV only). Perhaps someone here might help with: "My husband is half Japanese. His mother passed on when he was a teenager, but he does remember that she was a great cook. He remembers a candy that she use to make and he thinks it was called "osimbe". He may have the wrong name for it, but he said that it was combination of salty and sweet. It was rolled on the outside in a semi course salt, but under that was a real sweet chocolate. He said that when you first bit into it, the salt was enough to send your blood pressure sky high, but once you bit into the chocolate it was pure heaven. Anyone ever heard of it or know where I can find a recipe for it? Does it sound familiar to anyone?" Picky ~JA~ |
