IIRC, if you put a bunch of ice cubes in a pan of water, you will not
be able to get the water to boil until the ice cubes melt. Similarly, if i were to put a bunch of sausages (such as bratwurst) that are frozen solid into a pan of water, and turn up the heat, they will completely thaw first before the water will boil. This is essentially the same as thawing them in the refrigerator for 36 hours, but much quicker. Once the water boils, I can assume that they are thawed and I can put a lid on, turn down the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Right? Thanks. -J |
