Root canals aren't that bad anymore. Except for the wallet. That hurts.

I agree. Recently I had 5 root canals done in one sitting. Took three
hours and once the novocaine wore off, I was sore but nothing that was
intolerable. I was feeling pretty macho about getting 5 done at once
until I met a woman who had 8 done the day before me.

Cost... had them done in Mexico. Root canal, post and crowns came to
$600 a tooth. Here in Shreveport, the cost would have been $1500 per tooth.

The dentist did a good job, but I have this strange craving for
enchiladas all the time.

Yep. Painless dentistry is now a much appreciated reality. If you
have a dentist that still gives you a few painful tweaks, get a better
dentist.

<shudders> I am so glad that my genetics came from my mom... At 48, I
still have all my teeth including the wisdom teeth and plenty of jaw
room. 3 major fillings is all and a couple of minor ones.

Can't help but think avoiding soft drinks helps somewhat with that?

Yes, not sure what the big fuss is about. I only had one. One of my
front teeth was damaged in an accident and 10 years after the dentist
rebuilt it a hairline crack developed. It was more inconvenient than
anything because of the multiple visits.

Do dentists have the highest suicide rate?
