Cathy, I know Botswana is a separate country from RSA, but are you
familiar with "Bush Tea"? It is frequently mentioned in Alexander McCall Smith's Ladies' Detective Agency series. I've googled, but found nothing enlightening. Just thought you might be able to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks! Ruth |

It's not technically tea (not camellia senensis), but it tastes a lot like it, and is caffeine free as far as I understand it. It's the only non-tea "tea" I like. Thanks Michelle |

I know it as "rooibos". Very tasty and, as Michelle says, is caffeine-free and not actually a tea. I have purchased it, and other tea stuff, from The Tea Trader in Calgary: http://teatrader.com/SouthAfrica.html. In addition to the rooibos, I also like their Imperial Black #10 which *is* a black tea and is wonderful. No commercial interest, just a satisfied customer for some years now. HTH, TammyM |

Very popular here too - except with me. Can't stand the stuff <laugh> Tastes kinda "smoky" to me. However, Wiki has some fairly good info on it if you're curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooibos_tea And if you're *really* curious you can buy some on-line at Amazon.com and try it yourself <g> http://www.google.com/products?q=roo...uct_result _g or http://tinyurl.com/yg6kahw -- Cheers Chatty Cathy |
